Track Geometry problem
Posted in: Matchmoving SoftwareI have a problema in PF track and boujou when I try make a track geometry. After I put and adjust the OBJ Model, the programs don’t let me do the track.
In case of boujou the INITIALIZE KEY SCHEDULE is inactive and in case of PFtrack the button to track is inactive to.
Can the reason to this be some problem whit my model? If yes, how can I export the rigth model?
Thank you and sorry my inglesh.
PFTrack_tracking flat ground
Posted in: Matchmoving SoftwareI am attempting to track the ground of this shot so i can place text onto it. I’m using a single camera with free motion and my focal length is constant but unknown. i am tracking a few points with user features only. (all seems to work fine since my earlier beginner post).
Now what i cant seem to wrap my head around is in the perspective view when i am attempting to orient my scene my features are all over in 3d space. how is it that i can get all the features to be on the same plane?
i attached a screen grab for a visual. if i am missing any information you might need to help please let me know.
thanks much.

pfTrack advice please..
Posted in: Matchmoving SoftwareI’ve tried almost everything:
– as many user features as I could possibly get
– surface constrains for the co-planar features
– even distance constrains for some features I managed to measure when it was shot
– fixed camera focal length (taken when it was shot)
Now, the thing I believe it might work is improving the solution I already have, but constrains won’t do me no more good. So here comes the question (questions actually):
1. How can you improve your solution using primitives?
2. How can you improve your solution using f-curves? What can you modify by hand in the f-curve tab to improve your solution?
And thanks for taking the time at least to look at my questions. :rollbaby:
I’m a long term motion graphics hobbyist and now venturing my way into VFX to take me away from the daily office blues…
I’m currently using an FXPHD copy of PFTrack 5.0r8 via VPN and was wanting to try a little project of my own to test my skills… I have a concept but then I’ve hit a snag 😮
Basically I’d like to have a person walking around doing every day actions, and have a beating heart I’ve rigged in C4D beating in their chest, viewed like an x-ray and matching their movement of the screen, which could involve rotation and stretching.
Now I’m fine with the visual side of things – but as I’ve only just entered the realm of VFX, I’m a little confused as the the best approach I should take with the tracking and don’t want to charge along down the wrong path.
Would object tracking suffice for this sort of thing – or would the movement of clothes and limbs throw everything out of whack?
What do you feel would be the best workflow for this sort of FX shot?
Thanks for your help and input!
sony hvr-z1
Posted in: Matchmoving Softwarei have a shot taken with sony hvr-z1
the sensor size is 1/3 inch
but since my shots are 1440*1080 (pixel aspect 1.33)
what should i take for film back inside nuke.!??!?:radar:
I am in a bit of a tizzle regarding the film back settings for a plate shot with a panosonic ag-hvx-200.
I can find little info on this besides the fact that it has a 1/3" back and that the camera shoots 1440 x 1080 at 16:9 natively. my plate is indeed 1440×1080 with a pixel aspect of 1.333
a chart i have found here
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital…_angle_of_view
tells me that 1/3" genericaly works out to 4.8×3.6mm, this seems immensly small to me
has anyone tracked this camera before? I am geotracking a face from a stationary shot but need to check my back is all good first
many thanks
boujou to maya jittery track
Posted in: Matchmoving SoftwareI’ve tried going back to boujou and doing a Solve Adjust with ‘smoothing’ ticked and re-exporting, but it’s made no difference.
Any ideas?
PT Track – jitters in solve
Posted in: Matchmoving SoftwareI am working on a PF track scene, and I need some help. I have used PF track quite a bit but I’m working on improving my skills!
This is the footage I’m going to track:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQ-_qANAZlQ (I can’t get this to embed for some reason)
I used a consumer HD camcorder – a Panasonic HDC700, shot at full HD 1920×1080 50fps. I’m working with the footage a 25fps which helps with the ammount of wobble!
In PF track, using just auto features I get this result:
The solve is OK, but there are slight jitters to the camera, jitters that I want to remove before going into 3D. I can align the grid OK, and the camera lens is good (I’ve applied the correct distortion adjustment to the footage).
I’ve tried adding some user featers, but once solved the solve is very, very wrong – the grid has rotated itself by 45 degrees up into the air. Which has baffled me. What am I doing wrong?
Can anyone help me with how to remove the slight jitters I’m seeing?
Thanks,
Giles
I’ve run into a frustrating problem while trying to improve my solution in PFtrack 4.1.
So i’ve solved and want to delete the features that spike into the red in the proj-E graph. But i only want to delete the red parts. but when i select the auto feature and right click the;
Remove From Frame
Remove From Frame+Forwards
Remove From Frame+Backwards
are all grayed out.
I’m sure when i did this in college I was able to delete the auto features from specific frames. I should point out that i can still delete the auto features entirely, but i don’t really want to do that.
i’ve gone over the manual but haven’t found anything.
Am i doing something stupid?
Appreciate any help
Thanks
