3d track reflective surfaces

I would like to be able to 3d track the halls in my school, but the problem is that the floors and walls are all reflective so you can see the light’s reflection very easily and it throws the 3d track way off. What would be the best way to track this?

I have access to maya, boujou, and pftrack.

I will be editing in both 3ds max and after effects, but I also have access (but very little experience) with fusion.

Stereoscopic footage

Hello everyone,

I decided to improve my skills in Matchmoving (and reel) and try learning Stereoscopic Matchmoving.

However, shooting my own stereoscopic footage isn’t possible. So, I was wondering… Is there any source online where I could download Stereoscopic footage for free (3 or 4 second long shots would do!) to practice steresocopic matchmoving?

I found some websites with really good matchmoving footage, but most of them aren’t particulary cheap so…

So, if anyone can help me out with this one that would be brilliant! Thanks 🙂

Low Res files in Camera Tracking Software

Hello
i have a simple question about the interpretation of the camera data.
For a job shot with RedCamera at 4k 16/9 (4096*2304) with a lense of 20mm, i need to recreate the camera with PfTrack.
So filmback is 22.12 * 12.44 mm

The question is if a made a low res file of for example 2048*1152 or Hd 1920*1080 can keep the same film back size or need i use the 2k film back or set an unknown camera in pfTrack. And for the lense, what i’m suppose to do? 😎
So need i keep all the info like i am working in the 4k Resolution shot ? or not? 😀 Or maybe work with the 4k rushes

And maybe for people who are familiar with Maya.
When i export my cam (maya ascii default setting) with a correct size (i use two point measured on set) the two point who are distant for 1 meter in real life, are distant for 1 cm in Maya.
Is it normal? Need i change the scale export ?
Thanks for all

Stereoscopic camerasolve to Maya

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if I could tell Maya to handle a stereoscopic camerasolve from Pftrack- which basically are two independent cameras- like the internal Maya stereorig.
So that I would be able to use the stereoscopic viewport to check my 3D Scene.
Has anyone faced that problem yet ?
Thanks in advance !

What programs do you need for Matchmoving?

Also, how do you use after effects for:confused: matchmoving? That is the only program I am familiar with at the present moment. In addition, what are the steps to matchmove?

PFtrack is killing me… HELP!

Hi all,

I’m tracking some shots for a project and i’ve encountered the following problem…
I have some track markers on the wall and all the solved tracking points are not at the same Z level. When i look at the point cloud i can see that the points are not aligned in z space. They need to be, because the track markers are on the wall.

Does anyone have a clue? I can’t seem to find a solution for this issue…

Thnx in advance

Best book that teaches someone how to matchmove

 I know how to use Maya and After Effects

Non consecutive frames tracking

Hi!
I’m tracking a scene shot with a live rain and many flash lights.
The problem is that the flashes disturbes the 3d tracking in a disatrous way!
There’s a way to skip these frames during the tracking process?
I rely on your help :fingerscr .
Thank u so much!
