PFTrack 2011 Tutorials

Thanks
The card will pop up some things in cg, and shrink in every rotation.
I am trying to match the move of that 10 frames of rotation between this two different footages. Is there a way to have different shots and mix them in the software?
I would really appreciate your help!
cheers :)
Thanks.
I’ve tried tracking it in PFTrack 2011 and in Nuke with the CameraTracker node. I’ve tried it after fixing rolling shutter and lens distortion, and also (just to see), without fixing either. In Nuke I basically tweaked an auto track several times, whereas in PFTrack I tried 6-7 times with an array of different user tracks, auto tracks, target tracks.
No matter what I try in either program, the track is always solid, but once solved the ground plane is anything but solid. Also, the closest I came to a half decent solve one time in PFTrack 2011, the focal distance was bizarre. The ground plane would be stretch way off into the ‘distance’ when in actual fact it was barely more than 15 feet away!!
If anyone could shed any light on this or offer any advice, I’d be eternally grateful.
By the way, my cam is a very modest Sony Handycam – HDR-CX106e.
Huge thanks in advance.

(54Mb, Open in AE and save it as a Sequence)
So, I need to track just a 3 second and add a numberplate to the back of the car. I did one track and it wasn’t good, I added few masks at the same layer and tried again and it was failed at the end. So I decided to adjust Planar Surface (blue rectangle) but I don’t know how to adjust this in Mocha.
I know I have to export it to AE as a CornerPin, but I dunno Am I on a right way or no.
Please fellows trackers, give me some advice
i was wondering if it was possible to generate clean plates in boujou ?
i tried to find it online but couldnt find it for boujou….but it looks pretty simple in syntheyes…
i would also know if creating clean plates is not possible in boujou and i dont have syntheyes, which is the easier way to so…
thanks

Maybe a stupid question but when tracking footage shot with the RED cam, i would use the filmback sizes from this
http://www.jfi.net/RED/REDFormats3.pdf
It however doesnt have 4kHD (3840 x 2160) which is what alot of footage i get is, and also it doesnt have 4.5k WS (4480×1920) which i had one chunk of footage from. Is there any way to calculate these based on the known other sizes? Or does anyone have the numbers already they could give me?
Thanks,
I’ve been using Syntheyes recently and it is absolutely incredible compared to Boujou. Boujou just gets blown out of the water feature-wise. I have run into one problem though that is bugging me, and it has to do with the distortion workflow. If you check out my attached picture, you will see the original shot at the top. The original footage is 1080P
Now check out the left column, you will see boujou’s distortion workflow. What happens if boujou creates a concave pattern, and scales the size of the sequence up to above 1080P. This is perfect.
How do I get syntheyes to do this? Syntheyes does do it to an extent, but it crops it at 1080P so that you cannot see the concave pattern. What this results in, is a large border cutting off all my 3D during the time of re-distorting my 3D and compositing it with my original distorted backplate.
Please take a look at the attachment and tell me what you think 🙂
EDIT: Oh yeah, I forgot to mention this is Syntheyes 2008, not the new 2011 version.
I’m using PF Track 2011. The problem I face is that when I track it, the ground plane looks right when the cam is up and moving forward but its wrong when the cam is near the ground. Is this shot trackable? What do anyone think?
Its basically a test shoot before my real shoot for my masters project in Bournemouth University. So any matchmove professionals help would be great appreciated!

I currently have a shot to track and I was thinking of stabilizing it first before tracking.
So the approach I know of is to do a camera track in Nuke and the reverse it. Another way is to use F_Steadiness which uses 4 corner pin to pull the image to get a stabilized footage.
Which would you guys use to stabilize before you track? And also, do you stabilized first before you track or would that be more of a aesthetic choice sometimes?
Hope to hear from anyone! Thank you. 🙂
