SnagFilms is a new site dedicated to sharing documentaries. The have hundreds of titles you cans stream for free. Pretty awesome! You can sort by topic or channel and they have tons of good stuff from Super Size Me (if you somehow missed it) to Heavy Metal in Baghdad…
Recently conceptualized record label, Acéphale, the brainchild of Toronto based designer Rory Them Finest and former SLU label manager Patrik North (the ear behind The Teenagers, Dandi Wind, & Crystal Castles among others), has just ushered in its second release in the form of CFCF’s “You Hear Colours” (yeah– “ou”–’cause they’re Canadian, oui?). The mysterious Montrealer’s limited edition, 7″ double-a side single is a meager 500 copies pressed on white vinyl, and is accompanied by Alan Parson’s Project redux “Invitation to Love” on the flip. If the response to their first release, Salem’s “Yes I Smoke Crack EP”, was any indication, then you’d better hop real quick like on that CFCF. He, along with Acéphale and their many upcoming projects, are poised to blow up like stuff that’s, uh– really explosive or something.
Oh yeah– they’ve also released a really dreamy video for “You Hear Colours” courtesy of Dallas, TX based Tommy Boy (ya mighta seen his work on the video floating around for Telepathe’s Diamond Vampires remix). In any event, here’s the vid in all its lush glory: Click here to view the embedded video.
If you’re interested in purchasing the 7″, visit their website:Â http://acephalerecords.com/

The Larissa Goldston Gallery is hosting a sexually rambunctious group show featuring a wide variety of mediums and artists. Plus Terry Richardson’s schlong doesn’t make a single contribution, awesome.
Larissa Goldston Gallery is pleased to present Talk Dirty to Me. The exhibition will be on view from February 26th through March 28th. Â There will be an opening reception for the artists on Thursday, February 26th from 6 to 8pm.
Focusing on pieces that feature sexual language and/or imagery, Talk Dirty to Me explores not only the semiotics of desire, but also the exceedingly diverse and highly personal interpretations of such works. Within the exhibition, sexual intimations range from the suggestive to the explicit.Â
Each work was chosen for its ability to challenge the viewer’s notion of a particular word or image, forcing them to confront and address impulses of attraction or repulsion.  By casting the viewer as voyeur, each piece functions as a mirror.  Feelings of liberation, intimidation, arousal, disgust or often a combination of these emotions are not the result of the works’ language or imagery, but are reflections of the viewer’s personal proclivities and prior experiences.Â
The trailer for Spike Jonze’s new movie looks pretty good. We are trying not to get our hopes up too high for the adaptation of one of the most amazing books ever written so “pretty good” is really all we can say, but judge for yourself. IT LOOKS AWESOME!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!

Ondi Timoner’s Sundance Grand Jury Prize winning film We Live In Public premiers in NYC on April 5th during the New Directors/ New Films 2009 at MoMA. This documentary takes a look at the art/web/surveillance experiments of Josh Harris, obliterating the line between public and private. After doing an installation piece where over 100 participants lived in a bunker and were filmed 24/7 for the public’s internet viewing pleasure, he put his own life on display. The film tracks the bunkers decline into chaos as well as Josh’s own unraveling. Even though the film conveys the discomfort of full disclosure, it also seems like a compelling -if not forshadwoing- tale of our changing world. Soon enough the notion of privacy will be a thing of the past.
Eddie Bo, New Orleans funky funky soul singer, composer, songwriter, and producer passed away March 20th, 2009 (R.I.P) after suffering a heart attack. He was cranking the jams for over 50 years so check your bucket! (it take a second for the song to load).
If you don’t know the brilliance that was Eddie Bo, check out Oliver Wang’s Side Dishes at Vibe where you can stream many of his great tracks. His music is sure to make you feel good so thank you Eddie Bo for your legacy!
