From Blacklist‘s directing collective Dvein: Two entries into the New Music Weekly compaign on Rdio, the three-year-old challenger brand that has been outpacing longstanding leaders in the category such as Spotify, Pandora, MOG and Grooveshark. The innovative New Music Weekly campaign, launched last July, brings together the best in independent art and music with a series of original video pieces from visual artists around the world inspired by new music.
“We don’t see these as music videos but instead something more personal for our visual artists, creating art inspired by music, rather than literal interpretations,” said Nada Antoun, Global PR Director of Rdio, which is owned by Skype. “This campaign has shown that new art inspired by new music promotes discovery.”
“Music has a lot to do with an emotional connection with your past and future,” said collective Dvein. “We wanted to create experiences that express that in some way, the nostalgia of what you’ve heard and the excitement for new music, and Rdio gives us both.”

Vodafone ‘Add Power To Your Life’
Posted in: Animation, cg, directing, vfxSebastian Strasser from Radical Media has directed this great advertising for Vodafone, entitled “Add Power to your life”.
The project was shot over 8 days in Iceland, Denmark, Germany, the Czech Republic and Romania. During the shoot the team had to navigating some of Europe’s worst flooding in decades, making some of the locations highly treacherous, including the diner, which was left half submerged after a flood had hit the area. The film was shot almost completely using hand held cameras, enabling the team to capture more fluid, natural movements, which were then composited together by Time Based Arts, who did an exceptional job blending the 3D, CGI and live action.

Crazy short film from three recent grad students from the University of the Arts Utrecht (HKU). “After many months of tough love and hard work we are happy to present our animation movie, “Endtrip”, to the world.” The film has already been officially selected for the KLIK! Amsterdam animation festival.
Endtrip is an animation short film in which we experience a breathtaking trip through the bizarre and fantastical unconsciousness of a drug overdosed girl. This visually stunning journey offers a stereoscopic 3D glimpse into the extraordinary and strange workings of the mind. Reality and fantasy become intertwined into a dream where nothing is as it seems and we can only expect the unexpected.
