convert to Nuke

Hi Shakers!

I’m about to convert to Nuke due to lack of Apple news on Phenomenon. Would anyone care to discourage me before I do?… and for what reason.

I don’t want to fall behind with current trends, and as much as I like Shake (so much so I spent a lot of money on training), I worry that it isn’t the rough lovable diamond that it used to be.

Anyone else jumped ship?

Hugh, what’s this about?

If you still have a customized GUI it would be nice to see what you have done. Piotr might want to see it too, he’s been waiting since early 2004 😀

I found the post when googling Piotr Stanczyk (MPC). He wrote on Apple mail list about OpenFX, he asked if anyone had gotten it to work. Thought he might have some thoughts about it, I’m trying to get it to work at the moment…

Anyone got OpenFX Shake host working?

I just compiled OpenFXShakeHost and tried it with www.frischluft.com lenscare OFX bundle (released yesterday). However this is what I get from the command line:

10bit LOG TV Comps with 8bit LIN footage.

Hey I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions…

I have 10bit LOG TV Plates, to have Linear Footage comped onto them. I need to have the color space of the LINEAR footage somewhat be similar to the LOG, then render out all LOG DPX files to be filmed out.

So I have the LOG Backgrounds. Then I can take the LINEAR footage and do an INVERSE PRIMATTE LUT, to mix with the LOG. Also maybe an inverse custom LUT?

Any suggestions?

Layering images with a ‘Photoshop multiply’ effect?

I am currently in the process of learning shake… here is a brief explanation of what I am trying to create:

I have a paper texture image in the background, on top of that I want to animate separate grayscale images on top of that. I wan to to layer the grayscale images on top of the paper background using a method similar to Photoshop’s "multiply" effect.

The iMult node seems to do this, but everything outside of the top image frame then turns black (non-transparent). I found if I turn on the "Ignore Zero" option in the iMult it solves this problem, but creates 2 more… there is a now a black line outlining the image border and any black areas of the image are also now transparent.

I’m hoping there is a simple fix for this! This is driving me crazy… thank you for any help anyone can give!

Quickpaint problem – Please help

I’m finishing up the last shot of a rig removal. The file-in is 2k DPX, when I use any quickpaint nodes with this scan, I’ll paint, clone or reveal, then the next stroke causes a short freeze followed by an undo of the last stroke. Sorry, that’s the best way I can describe it. I tested other DPX files from other shots and they were fine. My question is, has anyone ever experienced something like this? It seems like the scans are causing the problem, but they look fine.

Thanks.

Pendulum expression

How would you do this in Shake?

http://www.motionscript.com/expressi…/pendulum.html

Say I’d want to script just the letter Y (rotated 180 degrees in Z), to move like a pendulum like the link above. What will the rotation expression be?

EXACT USAGE OF FRACTAL OR ITTERATIVE NOISE IN SHAKE SOFTWARE

HOW TO GET PARTICLE EFFECTS IN SHAKE CAN ANY ONE CAN PLZ HELP ME

Shake totally fullscreen, I made an app…

OSX (Leopard)

Use at your own risk, though if you follow instructions and backup your original Info.plist you’ll be fine.

This is a screenshot from an Apple Cinema Display @ 1920×1200 resolution (no cropping done on the picture)
No top menu bar and no top Window bar. so around 40 pixels extra to play with 🙂
Also, the Shake menu bar IS there, it’s just on auto-hide.

Download link:
http://dreamfield.dyndns.org/_eric/v…eFS_Toggle.zip

The app is a Toggle app. Shake never starts with the fullscreen settings. That’s why you might want to have the app in the Dock.

Hope you like it, SOME OTHER THAN ME must have gone crazy about those menus at the top 🙂

Pixel Originated Single Direction Dir Blur

I really really really need a tool….any of you awesome coders (If this can be done in an expression vs a plugin that would be very ideal) What I need is a directional blur that rather than blur in both + and – direction originates at the pixel and only moves in one direction so I can leave a hard edge on a matte and also create a better falloff.

Please help, this is super important!

Thanks!
