Liquid Metal Watch – First Look | Tokyoflash Japan

First Look at the Liquid Metal Watch. The Liquid Metal Watch is available here:

Liquid Metal Watch Silver: https://www.tokyoflash.com/en/watches/liquid-metal-watch-silver

Liquid Metal Watch Black: https://www.tokyoflash.com/en/watches/liquid-metal-watch-black

The Liquid Metal Watch is a world first. Using a material called Metallium, developed over years of research, the time is displayed with drops of liquid metal. Inspired in part by the Terminator movies, this unique, cutting-edge time piece is unlike any other.

A Futuristic Watch With A Unique Time Display

Futuristic in appearance, the colored metallic liquid floats freely inside the face of the watch like molten metal when you move your wrist.

Two small drops of liquid metal remain in a fixed position to indicate the hour on the outside and the approximate minutes on the inside. There’s also a larger drop of floating liquid metal that moves freely for effect. It’s as easy to read as a regular watch with hands!

Cutting Edge Watch Design From Japan

Designed in Japan, the Liquid Metal Watch case is made of stainless steel and has a hairline brushed finish. The watch comes in silver or black with the choice of a stainless steel or leather strap. You can choose from black, silver, red or blue liquid metal.

One of the most striking features of the Liquid Metal Watch is the contrast between the bright mirrored dial and the metallic liquid floating on top.

Finished with a mineral crystal lens, the surrounding bezel features selected engraved numbers which are a design element but also act as a guide for reading the time.

An Analog Watch With A Difference

Unconventional in many ways, the Liquid Metal Watch functions just like a normal analog watch. To set the time, pull out the crown and turn it clockwise or counter clockwise. The two liquid metal drops will move to the desired time. The watch uses a standard watch battery.

Friendship Day special: Famous animated characters and their best buddies

Friendship Day is just around the corner, but friendship greetings have already started bursting at the seams. It’s the day where we acknowledge that someone special who has stood by us through every thick and thin, tolerated our every antiques, yet never left our side.

We have seen the same friendship tales being transcended on our television screens as well. Either in cartoons or movies, while some in the pages of comics and stories. Here are a few of them. Some brotherhood tales that we have very accustomed to, right from our childhood days.

1.Mowgli and Baloo (The Jungle Book)

The wildest panthers and deadliest wolf packs of the jungle are his close companions, but Mowgli finds his comradeship more inclined towards the bubbly bear Baloo.

A guardian angel and a witty wisecracker, Baloo is as lazy as he comes, but never thinks twice before leaping to Mowgli’s help. When they aren’t on their own, Mowgli and Baloo could be seen in each other’s company, floating over the rivers, plumping themselves on tree branches, exploring the inconspicuous corners of the forests et al.

2.Timon and Pumba (The Lion King)

They sing together, they gyrate together; but never do they miss a chance to take a jibe at each other!

Timon and Pumba never fail to pull a few chuckles out of us whenever they appear on the screen, and their friendship is one of the liveliest you’ll ever see.

The amazing meerkat and warthog duo have endeared to the fans ever since their first outing in The Lion King in 1994. Hakuna Matata is Disney’s the most successful song, but it’s the spright and vibrancy with which these characters perform in it, that has made it all the more memorable.

3.Shaggy and Scooby-Doo (Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?)

Dogs, as the old cliché goes, are a man’s most faithful friend. But if that dog’s Scooby-Doo, then they can be damn entertaining too!

This cowardly pair are easily freaked the hell out by the ghosts, yet, somehow, get themselves out of the sticky wicket everytime. You may see them running for their lives all the while, but never without each other.

4.Ash and Pikachu (Pokemon)

Of all other friendships, this one’s quite special and deep. Ash and Pikachu were at the loggerheads when they first met, but time brought them closer and they then shared a bond which stood the most treacherous tests of time.

The duo together fought numerous Pokemon challenges, foiled all of Team Rocket’s Machiavillain attempts, traveled great lengths, met various people, so on and so forth!

Pikachu was more than just a Pokemon to Ash. A fidus achate for life. And their friendship is one of the most heart-rending in anime history.

5.Batman and Robin (Batman comics)

The constant bickering and berating may suggest otherwise, but deep down, Batman and Robin do share an undeniable bond.

When the danger bell is rung in Gotham city, these cape crusaders come to the rescue in no time and fight the baddies, together. And when one finds himself in a tight corner, the other goes whole nine yards to rescue him.

There are many superhero friendship stories that grace the annals of comics, but this one’s unlike any of them. There’s differences, altercation, fisticuffs even, but beneath all this, is a camaraderie.

6.Mike and Sully (Monster Inc.)

Mike Wazowski and Sullivan (Sully) must be the most hilarious duo in the history of 3D CG animation, hands down. A hardworking Mike whose agendas are foiled by the utter lazy Sully, these two contradicting characters complement each other fully.
From being arch rivals from the time they met to being the best of friends at the end of Monsters University, their journey has been full of gags, punches and guffaws.

7.Hero, Baymax and team (Big Hero 6)

From encouraging a friend to present in front of a huge crowd, to being there in times of grief and fighting alongside each other to defeat the evil-doer, the team of Big Hero 6 – Hero, Fred, Wasabi, Honey Lemon, GoGo and the extremely adorable Baymax – serves as the best example of friendship.

Gali Gali Sim Sim to be dubbed in more than one Indian language

With a reach of 14 million viewers, Galli Galli Sim Sim is watched on Doordarshan’s network of channels: DD National, DD Rajasthan, DD Uttar Pradesh, DD Bihar, DD Madhya Pradesh, DD Sahyadri and DD Girnar.

Speaking at the launch of the ninth edition of the series, Doordarshan Director-General Supriya Sahu said Galli Galli Sim Sim “teaches children important life lessons like executive functioning skills, health and hygiene, prosocial behaviours and much more. We are glad to take forward our partnership of past years with Galli Galli Sim Sim and create an impact through quality, age-appropriate content for children.”

The series will be telecasted on DD National every Saturday morning at 10.30 am. This season, the Galli friends bring important life messages to the young audience with an aim to help them understand and practice kindness.

The launch had a unique touch, with the Gallizens being the anchors and inviting various speakers on the dais. The programme will show the Gallizens dance to foot tapping songs, make new friends, add new words to their vocabulary and learn to be kind.

Compassion and kindness are important values that children in India need today to accept and appreciate differences and become more sensitive to the pain and suffering of others. Multiple studies have shown that prosocial behaviours like kindness are linked to academic success in children as they enhance children’s self-regulation skills such as emotional control and capacity to pay attention, which in turn affects learning, attention and memory.

When children learn to regulate their emotions and develop self-control, they are more likely to become aware of themselves and others, understand each other’s perspective and respond appropriately. That is why this season, the world famous Cookie Monster, the furry frenzied muppet, makes his debut on the Galli to show the young viewers how one can be kind to self and others through self-regulation.

In order to imbibe kindness skills into their lifestyle, children need to see adults as role models practice these behaviours for them to know what it means to be kind and respectful towards others. This is where Galli Galli Sim Sim and its cast of diverse muppets play a critical role. The overlaying thread of kindness runs across the Galli, in every possible way, and in all the fun that the characters have, be it echoing kind words like ‘Thank you’, ‘Sorry’, ‘Please’ or educating the viewers about imbibing values of inclusion, respect, empathy, and being generous.

The season also introduces a new segment where Bert and Ernie take the viewers to the fairy tales land where they are seen enacting characters from the classic fairy tales like Sleeping Beauty, Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White, Beauty and the Beast and many more. As kids visit the fantasy world, they imbibe skills of helpfulness and problem-solving. There is a fresh segment centred on friendship which reflects the colours of camaraderie shared by the characters, with an objective to build the seeds of kindness in children. All these segments of the show reinforce the values of kindness, caring, sharing and cooperation to the young viewers.

Sesame Workshop India MD Sashwati Banerjee said, “Multiple studies done across the globe confirm that what kids are exposed to in the early years has a long term impact in building lifelong habits. Unfortunately, today’s kids are growing up watching age-inappropriate content on television that may be violent, male-skewed and stereotypical, and this is impacting their thought processes. It is critical to expose them to content that helps them understand and respect differences, challenge stereotypes, cultivate empathy and helps them grow smarter, stronger and kinder.”

She said around 330 million children in India watch TV and around 51 per cent of them are aged two to four years, studies had shown.

Hisham Mundol, country head for India at the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation which funds Galli Galli Sim Sim said, “Galli Galli Sim Sim is a wonderful show that helps children improve learning and build personalities, all while having huge amounts of fun! It is the perfect companion to every parent and teacher in the country. This season, the show will address a much larger social issue of building kindness and we are proud to partner with Sesame Workshop India in this endeavour, and are grateful to Doordarshan for their support.”

Alka Malhotra a Communication and Development specialist with UNICEF said group watching of children with adults should be encouraged, while Young Lives India Country Director Renu Singh said this was possible if topical issues were picked which were of relevance to all ages.
