10 game releases to look out for in September

September brings in a lot of good games, a lot of sports coupled with action-adventures. Here’s a list of 10 games to look forward to:

Recore: This offering from Microsoft was announced at E3 of 2015. The action-adventure game has been developed by Keiji Inafune’s Comcept and Armature Studio and it puts the players in the role of the last surviving humans on a planet devastated by robots. With the help of few friendly robotic pets, the humans must survive. From the looks of the trailer it seems like each pet has unique abilities to help out their fellow humans. Microsoft’s recent cross platform support on Xbox and Windows 10 might prove to be a good deal for Recore.

The game releases in North America on 13 September and in Europe on 16 September.

Platforms:  PC, Xbox One

Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade: Developed by Behaviour Interactive with Bandai Namco Entertainment as the publisher, this game blends in features from a third-person shooter as well as MMORPG. The game has been on Steam early access for quite some time now. Eternal Crusade shows four primary factions; Space Marines, Chaos Space Marines, Orks, and Eldar, with 20 different sub-factions. Apart from these races, players can choose from hundreds of weapons and accessories. The Eternal Crusade begins their operations from 23 September.

Platforms: PC

Destiny: Rise of Iron: Released back in September 2014, Destiny, initially failed to garner praises for what it was. Developer Bungie took things up a notch with its expansion and shooter game which became quite fun to play. Now, the game is all set to get a new expansion, Rise of Iron whose initial posters were leaked over the internet and sent fans in an anticipatory mode since then. The upcoming version promises a new plot, new places to explore and quite a few brand new things to do! You can start assisting Lord Saladin from 20 September.

Platforms: PS4 and Xbox One

FIFA 17: This game does not need any introduction as every football fan who likes to get their hands on the virtual game of football must be already waiting for this game. The game would be the first in the series to sport a story mode. Created upon Frostbite engine (as usual) and developed by EA Sports, the story mode will follow the lead character named Alex Hunter. The game launches on 27 September.

Platforms: PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One

Forza Horizon 3: The third edition of this racing game, from developer Playground Games, will give players a chance to explore the open-world outback of Australia. The game will feature cross-play between Xbox One and Windows 10 (obviously), which means cross-purchases as well. The game has a assortment of new features and there is also a speculation that a demo would be online from 12 September while the game releases on 27 September.

Platforms: PC, Xbox One

Call of Duty Black Ops III: Salvation: The fourth and final DLC for Call of Duty Black Ops III will be rolled out this month. The DLC promises four new multiplayer maps and a conclusion to the Origins Zombie Adventures. The expansion will be available on 6 September. Find more information here.

Platforms: PS4

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past: This game is the 3DS remake for Dragon Quest VII.  The remake will feature over 30 classes. Each faction is expected to have some special abilities, some unique to the 3DS version. The game debuts on 16 September.

Platforms: 3DS

Bioshock: The Collection: You must already know about Bioshock. What’s with the collection? This is basically a re-mastered version of all the properties of the franchise which have been fine-tuned to an optimum level and they look brilliant. You can experience the refreshed version on 13 September.

Platforms: PC, PS4, Xbox One

NBA 2K17: This is another game in the kitty of September releases. The ‘NBA 2K’ series, adds another game to the name. The basketball simulation game is set to release on 20 September. The company has also announced a prelude to the game where players can start their ‘MyCAREER’ experience before the game releases, for free. The prelude will be available from 9 September.

Platforms: PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One

Darkest Dungeon: 27 September will mark the date when Darkest Dungeon, the turn-based roguelike will be releasing on PS4 and Vita. The PC version of the game was further embellished with additional content which will now be available on PS4 and Vita. Now, you can recruit from 15 hero classes from the main town. It also features a cross-buy and cross-save function between PS4 and Vita.

Platforms: PS4, Vita

P.S: We wanted to include Star Wars Battlefront: Death Star DLC in the list, but we are not sure about the release date, however it is being speculated for a September release.

You Are What You Eat – (Film) – (1968)

You Are What You Eat – (Film) – (1968).

(I have posted the complete ‘You Are What You Eat’ – The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (1968) HERE = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rVRVTHRxFjE

‘You Are What You Eat’ is a strange, psychedelic and convoluted film, as incoherent as its hippy brethren 200 Motels (1971) and Rainbow Bridge (1972). It belongs with that small collection of movies in which more people own the soundtrack than have actually seen the film. The soundtrack is phenomenal. The bright yellow cover is as eccentric as the vinyl itself that features audio cut-ups, squealing Moog synthesizers, relentless psychedelic improvisations, lounge music, Tiny Tim oddities, and the final appearance of The Hawks before they changed their name to The Band.

The list of those involved with the film is an incredible roster of counter culture heroes and weirdos. Tiny Tim, The Electric Flag, Frank Zappa, Peter Yarrow, Paul Butterfield, Super Spade, David Crosby, Hamsa El Din, Barry McGuire, the radio personality Rosko and several others. And despite the talent involved the film is incredibly difficult to track down in any format other than a blurry, seventh-generation, chopped up version that most likely will get trapped in your VCR.

Starring-

Tiny Tim.
The Hawks (The Band).
The Electic Flag.
Frank Zappa And The Mothers Of Invention.
Peter Yarrow.
Hamsa El Din.
Barry McGuire.
David Crosby.
Eleanor Baruchian.
Rosko.
Vito Paulekas
John Herold.
Harper’s Bazaar.

Pittsburgh Shopkeeper Chases Off Machete-Wielding Thief With A Huge SWORD

A Pittsburgh convenience store clerk didn’t just bring a knife to a knife fight with two punks trying to hold him up — he brought a sword. And it wasn’t much of a fight after that. The attempted robbery took place Friday night, when two juvenile males armed with a machete tried to hold up the Perry Market convenience store on the city’s North Side, according to WPXI. But the clerk just pulled out his sword and fought back.

Alright folks, final verdict… it’s not bad. I mean, I’m not putting it in my weekly rotation or anything, but honestly not bad.

“Learning that someone hates us deeply, even though we have done nothing ostensibly to provoke them, can be one of the most alarming situations we face. Because of technology, it is also liable to happen to us more and more. In the past, our enemies were restricted to the vicinity; now they lie scattered around the digital planet. In the past, we might once have unwisely read about ourselves in another’s diary. Now we can fall prey to a repeated temptation to google our own name – and must suffer the full baleful consequences…”

THE BLUE TIME

The Sami People call it the ‘blue time’ – the period in winter when the sun doesn’t rise above the horizon in northern areas of Scandinavia. Jeff Allen visits northern Norway every year, in both winter and summer, to break out of the world of credit cards and double glazing that society has become and explore the breath-taking wilderness and coastline by sea kayak with longtime friend Bjørn Eines. In more recent years, he has taken up dog sledding under the experienced wing of Tore Albrigtsen and now guides expeditions to the region to let others witness the beauty of his favourite place on earth.
