This extended video-essay explores the application of colour in production design. Taking JW von Goethe’s Theory of Colours as its starting point, it examines the way in which each film era has adapted and adopted Goethe’s work. From black and white to color, from analogue to digital and virtual, the essay examines such seminal films as A Trip to the Moon, The Great Train Robbery, Metropolis, Ben-Hur, Blade Runner, Avatar and Gravity. This video-essay is part of a series I am uploading for education purposes and is protected under the Fair Use copyright laws of the United States.

Fifty Shades of Hate

This short video-essay contains scenes of graphic violence depicting the abuse women suffer at the hands of men. While the films are either critically revered works, Oscar winners, or popular box-office hits, the stories themselves are original screenplays, adaptations or drawn from real life events. Beginning with the opening lines from The Godfather, it traces parental, marital, historical, racial, fiscal, verbal and sexual abuse. The violence ranges from shouting, slapping, punching and cutting, to maiming, whipping, raping and killing. Some of these films deplore the action depicted, others normalize it while yet others appear to relish it. The essay is part of a series I am uploading for educational purposes and as such, is protected by the Fair Use part of the copyright law of the United States.

Very blurry version .. Idiot gets a smack in the face from his own brick as he attempts to break into car. Owner arrives seconds later and he is soon arrested with major head injuries. Taken with a phone off the cctv … it looped back to beginning of scene , hence he vanishes . So , sorry about that … it was a simple phone clip to show friends , but happened to go viral …
With police advice I may upload a longer , clearer .. version .. but i can not do so yet .. My apologies

It is a bit chilly today so I let Miss Iris have her daily bath in the sink. Notice how she always tests the water temperature with her foot before she puts her head under? She will move the faucet handle to adjust the temperature too! She prefers to take cold water hose baths outside. Miss Iris is a 13 year old Hyacinth Macaw, living in Palos Verdes, California.
This video of Miss Iris “went viral” in two days over the week-end of 2/21-2/22 2015 on Face Book with over 222,000 viewings in less than 48 hours!
