The Colour of Pomegranates – Juno Reactor Score

Commissioned by the Bialystok Film Festival in Poland, Ben Watkins AKA Juno Reactor performed this live on the 29th September 2013.

In 1997 Juno Reactor Licensed The Colour of Pomegranates from the Arminian Ministry of Culture to cut a video to the track “God is God”

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8LY2VgiikE.

The “God is God” Video has been uploaded many times and taken down in equal measure, with millions of hits, it has become a way in for many new people into the world of Sergei Parajanov, an Arminian taxi driver told Ben in LA that “he was a great Director, but an even greater man”.

If you are new to Sergei Parajanov and his films, welcome to an amazing world of true cinema and artistry, I hope you also you find this score compliments the film.

Tracks used in this film are Written by Juno Reactor, as well as incorporating elements of the original score, sometime superimposed onto of top of one another, especially in Song for Ancestors where it freakishly collided in tuning and rhythmically…

Solaris – Luciana – Dreams (new track) – Aerial Ballet (Brave Story) – Chamber of the Four Guardians (Brave Story) – Conga Fury – God is God – Playing with Fire – Song for Ancestors – Angels and Men.

PichiAvo Graffiti for North West Walls at Rock Werchter 2014 curated by Arne Quinze

North West Walls, an ambitious project, brings a new art experience to the Rock Werchter festival. North West Walls will be a shining example of landscape art that can be admired even while the festival is not on. It is a permanent installation. But then again, it isn’t. Because North West Walls will look different every year.

Arne Quinze is the curator of North West Walls. With his help and support five artists will bring the walls to life.
He aims to give spectators a new view of their environment. For North West Walls, he conceived an architectural structure of shipping containers. The containers are stacked in an organic, but very deliberate way to create three towers. Technically this was no small feat, because never before have so many containers been stacked in such an apparently chaotic manner. Metal sheets on the containers make the walls truly workable and suitable for all kinds of artistic techniques. Result: a 360° architectural canvas.

PichiAvo graffiti Festival Intramurs Valencia 2014

This is not a story about war, or poppy cultivation or even the ongoing governmental issues that have been so prevalent in Afghanistan’s more recent history. This piece offers up an intimate description of a country that is just coming out of a thirteen year period of foreign military occupation. With the vast amount of negative coverage Afghanistan has seen over the last decade, reportage illustrator George Butler aims to portray a first hand impression of how things are developing and how life continues despite the uncertainty of the countries situation.  Directed By Tim Brown www.tabrown.co.uk

SUNDAYS

Mischa Rozema and PostPanic Pictures’ debut film project SUNDAYS completes a first step towards its Feature Film goal with the release of this ambitious proof-of-concept short. Much-anticipated and widely-supported by the international creative community (over 50K US Dollars was donated on Kickstarter alone for the live action filming part in Mexico City), SUNDAYS is directed by Mischa Rozema. Set in Mexico City sometime in the future and starring US actor Brian Petsos and Mexican actress Sofia Sisniega, SUNDAYS is an ambitious philosophical science-fiction proof-of-concept short. The end of the world seems like a nightmare to Ben. A memory of a past life that doesn’t belong to him. When Ben starts to remember Isabelle, the only love he’s ever known, he realises she’s missing in his life. An existential descent into confusion and the desperate need to find out the truth begins. This reality depicts a stunning, surprising and dark world. A world that is clearly not his. www.sundaysmovie.com story & directed by MISCHA ROZEMA – cast BRIAN PETSOS – SOFIA SISNIEGA – score composed by BEN LUKAS BOYSEN – director of photography JON GAUTE ESPEVOLD edited by MISCHA ROZEMA – vfx supervisor IVOR GOLDBERG – co-producer mexico STACY PERSKIE KANISS – production designer mexico ROBERTO BONELLI associate producer ANNEJES VAN LIEMPD – screenplay by KEVIN KOEHLER – sound designer JOCHEN MADER – producers ANIA MARKHAM – JULES TERVOORT
