The technology of Michael Jackson reborn

DreamWorksTV now live on YouTube

DreamWorks Animation has officially launched its DreamWorksTV YouTube channel, delivering original content for families with new animated and live-action series.

The new channel is part of the studio’s effort to reach millennials (and their parents) – and provide a promotional outlet for movie and TV franchises.

DreamWorksTV was developed by the team at AwesomenessTV, the teen-focused digital studio DWA acquired a year ago. The programming includes reality series, original animated web shows and vlog posts from DreamWorks’ stable of characters including Shrek, Puss in Boots and Kung Fu Panda.

DreamWorksTV also will include behind-the-scenes programming to promote DWA film and TV projects. Additional series include Watch This, which are curated ‘best-of-the web’ shorts and RetroToons, highlights from the Classic Media library that DWA acquired in 2012.

Live-action shows on DreamWorksTV include:

OMG: Sketch-comedy series featuring kid comedians;

Record Setter Kids: Hosted by YouTube star JennXPenn, featuring kids who come up with wacky records to break; and

Prank My Parents: Hidden-camera series in which tykes play tricks on their parents.

Animated series on DreamWorksTV include:

Jimmy Blue Shorts: Sketch comedy – hosted by a pair of talking jean shorts – created by Zach Aufdemberg and produced by Oddbot;

Gorillaville: Slapstick comedy from Ron Yavnieli (“Sketchy”) centering around three gorillas who wreak havoc in their otherwise idyllic wildlife preserve;

Report Card: Stop-motion series starring a news-anchor team of cardboard cutouts created by Jimbo Matison;

Public Pool: Ensemble comedy from David Fremont (“Liquid Television”) about the Puddleton Public Pool, where teenagers, musclemen, wimps, inflatable rafts and bad swimwear collide; and

Fifi: Cat Therapist: Comedy starring house cat telling it like it is to neighborhood animals seeking advice, from Mike Blum (“Lilo & Stitch”).

Brazil’s ‘The Boy and the World’ bags the Cristal Award at Annecy 2014

The prestigious international animation festival – Annecy – has for the second year in a row awarded a Brazilian feature with the top prize. Ale Abreu’s The Boy and the World (‘O menino e o mundo’) has taken home the Cristal Award.

The animation film is a stunning visual feat of colorful, crayon-like drawings that plays out a cautionary tale of globalisation, The Boy and the World received great reviews and great buzz among animation fans at the festival. It was picked up by Gkids for US distribution and, according to a few rumors doing rounds, is expected to make an Oscar push.

The film also took home the audience award for favourite film during the festival, voted by attendees online.

British Airways on Magic of Flying

The British Airways “Magic of Flying” campaign, run in London in November 2013, has won the Direct Grand Prix at Cannes International Festival of Creativity. The objective was to raise awareness of the breadth of destinations offered by British Airways, their new routes and frequency of flights. OgilvyOne wanted to create something truly engaging to remind us all how magical flying really is. Billboards in Picadilly and Chiswick changed every moment a BA plane flew overheard. People were driven to the ‘Look Up#’ site, ba.com/lookup, where they could find out more about the poster and explore the destinations and even weather reports, and then book a flight.

The billboards were outfitted with a special ADSB antenna which read every aircraft’s transponder data within 200km. The ads displayed real flight data: the flight number and where the plane was flying from. Dynamic retail messaging was matched to each route too. Weather feed was used to monitor cloud height to ensure the plane is visible before showing the advert. Within the first few weeks alone traffic to BA.com was increased by 75,000+ unique visits, over 1 million YouTube views and a global reach over 350 million people.

OK Go – The Writing's On the Wall – Official Video

LYRICS:
Listen, I know it’s been hard, you know it’s no different for me.

We’re less than a zero-sum game now, and baby we both know that’s not how it’s supposed to be.

The writing’s on the wall — it seems like forever since we had a good day.

The writing’s on the wall, and I… I just want to get you high tonight. I just wanna see some pleasure in your eyes.

And I go too hot, and you go too cold and we both fall apart.

and you bring your mind to rest against mine, but the mind has no say in affairs of the heart.

The writing’s on the wall — it seems like forever since we had a good day.

The writing’s on the wall, and I… I just want to get you high tonight. I just wanna see some pleasure in your eyes.

Even if it’s the last thing that we do together.
