faking handheld like cloverfield

Hi all,
I just received a project that requires all locked down shots to look hand held.
The Director told me he wants some shots that can be subtle to shaky footage like Cloverfied. He also ‘STRESSED" that it must look EXTREMELY REAL.
Paralax is a MUST.
Otherwise he will hand off the work to another VFX Artist.
I have never done this before and My exact works to the Director was…"I’ve done it a thousand times, you’ll love it! " 🙂

So I have 1 month to learn and get into shape before I submit my Demo.

So, I need you guys more than ever. I understand the "theory" behind it, but my shaky footage in the past was a Wiggle expression.

Please don’t read this and move on.
If you have ANY suggestions that might help me, PLEASE post it.

Thank you

How to restrict one knob to only affect a given area?

Hello all. Does anybody know how to restrict a ‘knob’ in a given area, such as an area drawn in a ‘rotopaint’?
With ‘Keylight’, for example, I want to adjust ‘Clip White’ knob to affect area A and ‘Clip Black’ to affect area B. I think one solution might be using two ‘Keylight’ nodes, adjust each knob in each node, and draw mask A\B with ‘rotopaint’ node separately. Then combine the results.
But that needs too many nodes. So, can it be done within one ‘Keylight’ node? Can it be done with expressions?
Any technique that can be achieved is welcomed:).

Thank you.

Multiple words making up one final large letter

Hi.
I’m trying to emulate the following movie using the built in ‘decode fade in’ and 3d camera (not sure if sure target is being used). I’ve a feeling that I should be able to save sometime using a plugin rather than manually placing and animating each word:
http://www.tvtalk.cn/news_show.asp?boardid=191&id=19107

The main thing I was wondering about is how they animated multiple words fitting inside a single letter (15secs-22 secs).

If you know of a script or plugin that can do some of these tweens I’d appreciate any feedback.
Thanks.

may to nuke up vector

Hej,

i have some problem with the conversation from maya to nuke. Actualy i needed to change the up axis in maya to z but when i export my animated camera, now to nuke of course it doesn´t work, because nuke does use y as up axis.

maybe i am just blind, but is there a way to change the up axis in nuke to z instead of y?

thanks for your help
