Colour Correcting Particular Layer

Hey there,
I’ve got a Trapcode Particular particle effect applied to a solid layer. If I add a colour correction effect after the Particular effect, it doesn’t do anything.
Similarly, if I pre-comp and apply an adjustment layer, no effect.

Anyone know how I can colour correct my particles?

math for compositors

Hey All,

I have good experience as a motion graphics artist and I’ve taken it upon myself to work on my compositing skills. I’ve come to realize that to truly be an effective artist, knowledge of Math is essential. Math has never been my best friend, more like a bully. But I’m ready to face my fear of math so I can become the compositor I want to be.
Can Anyone suggest what math skills are essential to the Compositor, and what I should concentrate on the most. My hopes are to get a better understanding of whats going on under the hood mathematically in visual processing. What math skills will help me understand scripts, behaviors, functions and image manipulation. Any input would be appreciated. I’ve been a AE artist for years and am starting with Nuke.

Kiran Menon – 2010 Compositing Reel

Hi everyone,

My name is Kiran Menon and I just graduated from the Vancouver Film School’s 3D Animation and Visual Effects program.

This is my 2010 Compositing reel which was created in the last 6 months of the school that features my final project and some of the work I did for a school production. I am currently living in Vancouver,BC and looking to find an opportunity as a junior compositor.

I would like to thank this amazing forum for all the troubleshooting that I had to deal with and useful tips that I have learnt.

Any feedback/comments on the reel would be greatly appreciated!

Masking by Render ID channel or MaterialID channel

Hi. How can I use those channels for masking my objects in Fusion? The problem is, most of those channels which could I use for masking are without AA. It means, border of selection is rough. Ehm…any ideas? How about coverage channel?

Moving from Inferno to Nuke?

What is the transition like to Nuke from Inferno? I’ve dabbled in Nuke as of late and I have a solid understanding of how things work/where to access in Inferno and I’ve found that it’s pretty similar in some respects, and very different in others. I’m just wondering if anyone else here has made the transition before and what did you find was easy/hard about the transition?

Nuke generalist

Move knob position with python?

Hi,

Maybe it’s really easy but I can’t find the good way.

I’m doing an interactive gizmo and I need to manage a lot of knobs.

When I create different knobs (on a group) directly with python by default the new knob is directly positionned as the last one. (why not…)

I would want to know if it’s possible to move this knob? (as the second position in a list of 10 knobs for example)

I really need to find how can I do… So if you have any Idea ?
(except remove all knobs and recreate them in the good order ;))
