Which option is best especially for green screen keying?
Are there particular reasons for the different methods and a guide as to which option to use for which cases?
Thanks

a magical and sought-after dagger that can reverse time. fxguide looks at a

3D animation in city
Posted in: Demo Reels!I tried to create a 3d city in 3d studio max. I watched two city pictures to know how the houses and buildings were like.
I wanted this animation look like cartoon or something.
I did this to the swedish company Lindberg.
HD Action scene
Posted in: Demo Reels! It took a while to create cause I worked with the light, effects, editing, sounds and music very closely. But I’m not a professional editor so maybe it doesn’t looks awesome.
In music and audio part i compressed some sounds and did some delay, changed some pitches and stuff like that.
Used: Magix Music Maker 14 Premium
The light was the longest part to do cause I wanted it to be perfect so I worked with it very carefully with curves, corrections and balances.
Used: Premiere Pro & After Effects CS5
Editing wasn’t so much, just som fixes with the music and made the clip match the sounds.
Used: Premiere Pro CS5
Effects and slowmotion was made in After Effects CS5.
Hope you’ll like it and maybe give me some comments!
The second part that I thought was most important was the slowmotion and that the light, trash, mud and the person was moving as realistic as it could.
Then I worked really hard with the sound(music. Also this time I compressed, switched some pitches and created some delay.
All the effects was made in After Effects CS4.
All the editing was made in Premiere Pro CS5
All the music/sound editing was made in Magix Music Maker 14 Premium
Watch in 720p HD.
This time I took a still image and tried to make it look like 3d and tried to create a feeling that a camera was flying over the village.
I used some lensflare and mixed with the lights alot to get a sunset look.
Watch in 720 HD!
Please give me some feedback 🙂
Compositing Showreel 2010
Posted in: Demo Reels!I’m just in the process of putting a new compositing reel together with the aim of applying for some junior 2d positions.
This seems like a great community with some fantastic feedback given on reels so I thought I’d post it up here in it’s current state to see what the consensus is and what I could do to improve it.
I have a bad habit of trying to put too much into my reels becoming too long and bloated, so I’ve tried to keep things short but (hopefuly) sweet with this one. I’m a bit worried I may have gone too far in the other direction though and that it’s now a bit too short/rushed?
Thoughts very welcome 🙂
Cheers

Cinema 4D’s PyroCluster Revealed
http://www.cmivfx.com/productpages/p…uster_Revealed
PyroCluster is the volumetric shading module for Cinema 4d. Pyrocluster enables photorealistic volumetric effects such as fire and smoke, as well as Hollywood-style explosions (think gasoline bomb) and stylized science (and science fiction) energy effects like force fields, beams of electricity, and wormholes. It is a fully featured, yet extremely easy to use module, and it is fully integrated within Cinema 4d, unlike many of the other third party volumetric plug-ins available.
Deep Versatility
Learn about the volume tracer and a few ways to drastically speed your Pyrocluster renders. Delve into each of the different tabs within the Pyrocluster materials: control puff radius, luminosity, color, and alpha within the age effects, distance effects, and cylindrical distance effects. Learn the basics of the illumination and shadows tabs to help control light as well as self, cast, and received shadows. Use the noise tab to create an infinite number of different shapes of noise, and of course animate them. Combining the gradient style of animation with keyframing, Pyrocluster is incredibly versatile and powerful, allowing many different solutions and ways of working that with a little practice, anyone can become very comfortable with.
Time is of the Essence
An important concept within many different modules is to modify presets. By taking a preset as a starting point, it becomes infinitely easier to achieve a given look, style, or interaction and can save significant setup time, and in the fast paced (and getting faster) worlds of visual effects and motion graphics, these time savings can be invaluable. Combined with thinking particles, the sky is the limit when it comes to interaction, level of detail, and realism, so if youre new to Cinema 4d, or Pyrocluster, or have been looking to add an easy-to-use volumetrics module to your quiver of skills, this video is most definitely for you!

Compositing Reel 2010
Posted in: Demo Reels!Hi everyone,
I am about to graduate from Vancouver Film School’s 3D Animation and Visual Effects program.
First of – let me say thank you to this great forum. I’ve been using it many times for troubleshooting during my education.
This reel features some of my student work and all visual elements were created by me during a period of 6 months. I’m currently looking to get an opportunity as a junior compositor / paint/roto artist.
Any feedback on the reel is welcome, don’t hesitate to post critique! 🙂
