Scanline Renderer Depth

So, what exactly is Nuke outputting from the Scanline Renderer depth channel? The value seems to be less for an area that is farther away from the camera, and more for an area that is near to the camera. I’m not sure exactly where this is coming from, and I’m quite confused. Can anybody give me a hint for exactly what that value is, so I can sensibly do math with it?

Nuke 6 Roto Shape – Deleting Points Question.

Hey there! Quick question from a newbie compositor.

I am rotoscoping something, and trying to delete some points from my rotoshape, but only on one frame – not for the entire sequence. Recommendations on how to do this? I have tried the tool on the side that is the arrow with the minus sign, also clicking the delete button, and also right clicking and going to delete key > Shape.

Any ideas? Please help!
