Nuke won’t start on iMac i7, help!

Hi all!

So I’ve just received a shiny new workstation, the new 27" Imac with the i7 cpu, sweet!

I install Nuke 5.2v3, then go to run it… icon "zooms" as if to start, then nothing.

Ok, so I install 5.2v1… same thing, not even a mention in the Activity Monitor.

So, I decide to "nuke" the HDD and do a clean install of OSX.

Restart, install Nuke 5.2v3 again, launch, same result! Zoom, then nothing.

Am I missing something?

Does Nuke not work with the i7 CPU’s or something?

I have it running on my MBP w/snow leopard just fine. And I have installed it many times without this issue.

Has anyone else come across this? I have a pretty heavy deadline, and this was my saviour… seems like I’m done for! 😉

Any help greatly appreciated!

Cheers.

Hair Detail in Clean-up shot..how?

Hello everyone,

I have this shot, where I need to do some clean-up work and I thought I will ask for any advices how to go about it..

The idea of this shot is that the guy stands up from the table and sees that he is the last one in the room, after nodding his head he leaves the frame .. Now when I filmed this there were few people in the shot and since I could not do anything about it I had to just get the take, and with hopes that I will deal with it later on in post.. and now I came to that point..

the shot is 325 frames long.. I’ve done some cleaning work before, so creating a clean plate isn’t an issue.. What’s an issue is I don’t quite know how to deal with the hair.. coz the actors moves threw all the clean-plate patches straight roto seems to be not the best solution to go with (since there is a lot of detail in the hair).. is there any other techniques/ways to deal with it? Any thoughts are welcomed and would be really appreciated..

screengrab attached (red areas would be the patches)

i get really a hearth attack the next days, because if i export my tracks with the primitive objects, i wont import them in 3dsmax

i can import the max file with the tracking data and camera, of course i can import the tracking object with his tracking information, but the 3ds.file with the primitive object doesnt work! (improper file format)

i export the scene from pftrack as fbx file that works but i have problems with the timing at the background view (img sequenz)

Meet Meline

No?

[SCRIPT] Fusion Light Wrap Macro

Hello 🙂

I thought I’d introduce myself. I’m a comp artist from Sweden working mainly in Fusion and I run my own 3d/VFX-company called Norrblick (www.norrblick.se).

I’ve been creating my own node tree for light wrapping in Fusion and I thought that you might be interested in this, so I’ve made this macro for you all to try.

Go to http://vfx.norrblick.se and download "LightWrapMacro.zip"

Have fun
