Currently being developed under the title of ‘Nuke: Defined’ this new DVD will be a comprehensive guide to the 150 plus tools currently found in Nuke. It will also be covering the UI, Editors and Preferences.
The great thing about this training package is that it’s built with expansion in mind, so as new versions of Nuke come out existing spherevfx customers can buy or receive free (if they’ve taken the year subscription option) an update DVD.
The training package is going to be available as a single licence or as a site licence (giving companies the flexibility to copy the content onto their internal intranet). Also, as mentioned above, a year subscription can also be taken out giving free upgrades for all versions of Nuke brought out by The Foundry in a 12 month period.

Sorry if this is a nooby question but bear with me. I’m still trying to transition over from AE.
I’m trying to key out a non-evenly-lit greenscreen in multiple takes. Normally how I would do it in After Effects is split the footage up into sections with rough garbage mattes, key each section, then re-combine all the images into 1 by merging the alpha’s.
Whilst creating the first pass in Nuke, the Bezier seems to be creating this thin black edge around where the bezier has been drawn (see attached screenshot).
Second problem is when re-combining the alpha’s, the table seems to go transparent, even though the matte is pure white.

Spesso qualcuno ci dice di essere parecchio “esterofili” pur essendo “motiongraphicspuntoIT” ed in effetti non possiamo negare la netta prevalenza di recensioni su materiale straniero rispetto a quello italiano, ma c’è da ammettere che è proprio quel materiale che spesso diventa fonte di ispirazione e ci insegna qualcosa.
Oggi vorremmo mostrarvi il progetto di Mathieu Gérard (neolaureato in Arte e Tecnologia dell’immagine all’università di Parigi) che ha portato come testi di laurea. Il titolo è “Steel life” un cortometraggio in CG veramente interessante, non è solo bello… è fatto bene. Ovviamente non è piovuto dal cielo, è sicuramente frutto di tanto lavoro.
Forse questa per qualche neolaureato italiano (in materie inerenti ovviamente) potrebbe risultare una provocazione, beh in effetti lo è. In quanti potete vantare un biglietto da visita post laurea (la tesi di laurea dovrebbe esserlo) un progetto già premiato per ben 11 volte? E non ci parlate solo di congiunzioni astrali negative o del docente del mesozoico che vi ha fatto scrivere il papiro con presentazione power point allegata.
