Hello,
I am new to VFXTalk and wanted to get some feedback on my recent demo reel. Having just graduated from college, I hope to find work in visual effects. Friendly critiques and comments are welcome.
And here is my senior capstone, called Project Penguin:
You can also view a making of Project Penguin on my website here.
Hello,
Im going to put up some tutorials on my site for RealFlow that may help beginners. I think the first few will be basic but will start a training path in the future. I have a site mainly to sell 3d models and wanted to make some tutorials to help out. The site is new and between doing all the flash, PHP and tutorials by myself it is a slow process. I do have flash media server on my dedicated server so viewing them online should not be a problem for anyone (I hope). You do have to signup for a free membership only so I can track how many people this helps and to protect my content via the user agreement. But I want to keep this free!!!! I will not e-mail you junk newsletters because I hate them and dont have any time to write any. I hope this helps someone.
So far we have….
Intro to realflow 4 – 31:19 in length
Intro to importing objects – 9:41 in length
Intro to rigidbody objects – 23:07 in length
Custom interface – 7:15 in length
Import custom scripts – 4:01 length
The fixed constraint – 7:08 in length

Zevs got nabbed in Hong Kong while throwing up a drippy droppy “liquidated” Chanel logo on the Armani store in preparation for his first solo show in Hong Kong. By staking his claim in the “brand war” he really pissed off Armani and is getting sued for HK$6.7 million. The flip side is maybe we can expect his show to sell out???
Following up on his poetic short film “Seeking You,” director Jean-Julien Pous recently released a new music video for Gedda Headz’ (MySpace) first single, “Spaced Out.”
Like the track, the visuals are a wild blend of analogue and digital. Shot in Hong Kong, because, says Pous, “it’s futuristic and intense, like an Asian Neverland,” the video is a tripped out journey through pop culture and video games shot beautifully by cinematographer Keidrych Wasley.
The video bites off a lot—aside from directing a dozen or so actors and coordinating their stunts with George Jackson, Pous packed his project to the gills with ambitious camera work, including a helicopter shoot. But the production never feels overwrought or Michael Baysian. It just feels fun.
With excellent character design like this, it looks as though Gedda Heads might be following in the footsteps of Gorillaz, channeling their music through their new alter egos. That’d be fine with me. It’d give them a good excuse to hire Jean-Julien Pous again.

The glorious menace of PIXAÇÃO has been disseminating through the streets of Sao Paolo for decades, leaving the whole population to feel as if they are living in Suicidal Tendencies’ band room. These videos capture the primitive form of graffiti as it lives now while giving a little back story of how it derived over the years from heavy metal imagery, barbarian alphabets, and pissed off favelans wanting to ram a paint can into the faces of the upper class. Thanks to Cool Hunting for putting this together.
