We are going to explore some of the different methods of creating scenes ready for RBD Fractured Simulations, we will explore some interesting nodes like the " For each node" , Partition node, RBD glue object, at the same time different options for creation of groups based on attributes, using nodes for user defined selections or simply random, among other things.

Python Beginner: How to list nuke.env ? Or startup folder?

Hi everybody-
I’ve been going hard at Nuke and Python for the last week- and I’ve had a couple of problems I can’t seem to solve.

1. – How would you go about listing all of the nuke.env variables? Simply

"print nuke.env()"

or

"for i in nuke.env() print i"

doesn’t work-

and I can’t seem to figure out how to list the contents of some dictionaries in Nuke.

2. – My second question is: where do you place your "init.py" or "menu.py" files for starters?
On my windows XP machine it is in "Documents and settings\<user>\.nuke\ " which is no problem.
However I’ve looked at multiple other machines that are identical- and their .nuke folder doesn’t exist, (except- perhaps C:\.nuke\ which doesn’t work either)
So do customize multiple Nuke workstations- is it possible to find a path within Nuke to that user’s .nuke folder containing init.py and menu.py?

Thanks for your time!

VFX Compositors for short-film

Hi there,

We are looking for a few talented compositors who can work remotely to help with the post-production of a 5 minute HD short-film. We are slowly getting through post, and could use as much help as we can get.

This is a small scale production, our first live-action short self-funded, which was filmed on green screen back in late April. It’s a simple dark Children’s tale. We are hoping to send this to festivals in the coming months. This is not a student film.

There are minimal camera moves, no robots, aliens, lasers, or lightsabers effects, much of the compositing is cleaning the green screen, dropping in the background, color timing, and adding some layer effects for atmosphere. It is also a very stylized film, we’re not looking for photorealistic, so the likely candidate would be able experiment with certain ‘looks’.

Experienced artists preferred, graduates may also apply. We are looking for committed, and enthusiastic artists, who can communicate frequently on progress and have time to work with our film over the next month or so.

After Affects is preferred.

We are based in Vancouver Canada.

Because we are self-funded, our budget is minimal for the post-production of the film, unfortunately this position is unpaid.

We can also send you a mock up of the entire film, if you sign our NDA and return.

If interested, please send links/reels and questions to phatalbert_animate@hotmail.com

Thank you,

Simen Johan
