Viewers in Nuke

When you have multiple viewers in your comp and use hotkeys (1, 2, 3, etc.) to connect nodes to a viewer, is there a way that you can pick which viewer node the hotkeys refer to?

TALK DIRTY TO ME

The Larissa Goldston Gallery is hosting a sexually rambunctious group show featuring a wide variety of mediums and artists. Plus Terry Richardson’s schlong doesn’t make a single contribution, awesome.

Larissa Goldston Gallery is pleased to present Talk Dirty to Me. The exhibition will be on view from February 26th through March 28th.  There will be an opening reception for the artists on Thursday, February 26th from 6 to 8pm.

Focusing on pieces that feature sexual language and/or imagery, Talk Dirty to Me explores not only the semiotics of desire, but also the exceedingly diverse and highly personal interpretations of such works. Within the exhibition, sexual intimations range from the suggestive to the explicit.

Each work was chosen for its ability to challenge the viewer’s notion of a particular word or image, forcing them to confront and address impulses of attraction or repulsion.  By casting the viewer as voyeur, each piece functions as a mirror.  Feelings of liberation, intimidation, arousal, disgust or often a combination of these emotions are not the result of the works’ language or imagery, but are reflections of the viewer’s personal proclivities and prior experiences.

Maya service pack 1

Anyone try out the new service pack fixes for Maya 2009? Does it deliver as promised? Also, What is the mental ray Satellite Download? If I use the dos prompt to batch render, does that invoke a mental ray satellite?

Santa Maria: Ronald McDonald House

santa-rmdh

Hornet Inc.’s Santa Maria built a mixed media playground for the Ronald McDonald House and agency Leo Burnett in this 2′38″ spot.

2D, 3D, stop-action, claymation, practical, digital—there’s just about everything in here. My favorite moments are the bursts of cheerful, hand-hewn type.

I’m fairly certain folks will be divided over this one: half feeling that it’s a happy ensemble of imagery, the other half feeling it goes a bit too far. Personally, I like it, and I think it works. It’s as if an entire morning of Saturday cartoons from my childhood has been condensed into an elaborate nugget. It’s warm, earnest and pure.

WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE

The trailer for Spike Jonze’s new movie looks pretty good. We are trying not to get our hopes up too high for the adaptation of one of the most amazing books ever written so “pretty good” is really all we can say, but judge for yourself. IT LOOKS AWESOME!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!

We Live In Public

we_live_in_public_movie_image__1_

Ondi Timoner’s Sundance Grand Jury Prize winning film We Live In Public premiers in NYC on April 5th during the New Directors/ New Films 2009 at MoMA. This documentary takes a look at the art/web/surveillance experiments of Josh Harris, obliterating  the line between public and private.  After doing an installation piece where over 100 participants lived in a bunker and were filmed 24/7 for the public’s internet viewing pleasure, he put his own life on display.  The film tracks the bunkers decline into chaos as well as Josh’s own unraveling. Even though the film conveys the discomfort of full disclosure, it also seems like a compelling -if not forshadwoing- tale of our changing world. Soon enough the notion of privacy will be a thing of the past.
