Primary Responsibilities:

• Maintenance of hardware including servers, workstations, switches, firewall and backup systems (see below for list of specific hardware).
• Maintenance of all production, systems and management software.
• Maintenance of disk playback systems.
• License management
• Troubleshooting and maintenance of render farm hardware and render management software.
• Ensure proper color calibration of all displays.
• Provide user desktop support
• Building and install new hardware and software.
• Documentation of IT related processes

Required Skills

• Minimum 3 years experience in a system administration role within the Visual Effects or related industry.
• Experience with the administration of visual effects related applications including, Nuke, Maya, Flame/Stone, Final Cut, Shake, RenderMan, Qube, Photoshop, PFTrack, Tweak RV
• Familiarity administering, supporting and maintaining a large network infrastructure.
• Experience and/or familiarity with the installation and administration of: IBM Exastore, IBM Blades, NetApp 3000 series, HP ProCurve Switches, Watchguard Firebox, APC UPS, StorageTech Tape Robot, Apple Xserve, Apple MacPro, HighPoint RAID, Watch
• Mastery of Linux and its various distributions including OpenSUSE and CentOS.
• Expert knowledge of Windows XP, Mac OSX, IRIX, Veritas, NetBackup, Open Oiffice, MS Office, VMware, xCat, ClearOS, Dovecot, Postfix, vsFTP, OpenSWAM, CloneZilla
• Strong working knowledge of Python coding and Linux shell scripting
