LUMA PICTURES, located in Venice Beach, CA. is looking for a WEB DEVELOPER to augment our software pipeline team. Luma is an artist driven company with a great work environment and an emphasis on quality film VFX work. There are many opportunities to grow while having fun along the way and a long term staff position is available for the right candidate.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
– clean up, optimize and expand an advanced PHP-based project tracking system
– develop both front end and back end
– port existing simple python based tools and utilities to web based applications

QUALIFICATIONS:
– 3 years experience developing web applications using LAMP (Linux/Unix, Apache, MySQL, and PHP).
– advanced knowledge of javascript frameworks like prototype or mootools
– understand sound database architecture principles and optimization techniques
– have a demonstrated graphic design / layout / aesthetic sensibilities
– demonstrated expertise in usability, workflow and visualization of massive amounts of data
– ability to reverse engineer and create simple scripts in Unix and Python
– excellent problem solving and communication skills a must

PLUSES:
– hands on experience in visual effects production
– experience integrating Python with PHP
– Mac power user
