Digital Image Retoucher to compositor?

Hi all!

For the past yr I’ve been working as a Digital Image Retoucher at a busy photographic studio, I am now trying to make the transition into a freelance compositor and I’d like to ask some advice:

I gained heaps of skills in photoshop, everyday I had a different request from clients including:

– Removing braces.
– Fixing glasses focus so that refraction & reflection doesn’t occur.
– Removing table in foreground (requiring me to paint in legs and feet).
– Removing ex husband from family intergrated group shot.
– Making legs, arms, behinds thinner using warp tool (quite a common request).
– Head and face replacements (normally there are 1 or 2 people blinking or looking away in group shots).
– Scar/tatoo removal.
& more.

Ok so now I am working on a compositing showreel, the problem is I can’t exactly use anything I worked on as they are all still images so I’ve been working on my own shots which is taking some time.

Anyone else come from a image retoucher or photographic path and what should i look for in transitioning my skills from still to moving images? (besides obviously tracking…)

Thanks in advance!
