I finally got back round to this guy as I’ve been looking through old files to see what needed to be done for my new hd showreel. Not only am i re-working it for hd but i also taking the opportunity to update it.
The lighting of the scene wasn’t very ominous, you also get to see the bad guy straight away. So i took the scene to pieces and made it into layers (to give me more choices in compositing).
Along with the lighting the camera move in the last version never really made sense. So now i added a little more life to the shot..
I always wanted the power source in the center of his chest to be more like a plasma ball, so i made this too.
I’ve recently been messing around with a new way of doing muzzle flame so i thought i’d throw that in as well.
A few more sounds to make it more personal and it’ll be posting the results as soon as they’re finished rendering.. I have attached a still of the new version.
I am updating the rigging as well so the gun will be aiming properly by the next time you see him..
If anybody could offer some advice on how I can make it appear as though the thumbs have been surgically removed, that would be great.
Sorry for jumping directly for help, but I can’t find a reasonable way to do this.
I WAS RENDRING MY FILE IN AVI FORMAT.
PLEASE HELP ME FOR WRITING HD DVD IN VOB FORMAT.
I TRIYED PINECLE STUDIO AND NERO VISION EXPRESE.
WHICH ONE IS SUTES ME BATTER THEN THAT.
I have just completed this bridge collapsing scene. Attached, is the .mov file. All kind of thoughts and feedback are welcome.
Thanks
An attempt at matchmoving and compositing a CG element into a filmed shot. Used Boujou for tracking, Maya mental ray for rendering. Compositing was done in After Effects, although I’m also learning nodebased compositing (Nuke) and I’ll switch over to Nuke later.
The filmed shot is terrible, it has some rolling shutter artifacts which clearly give it away at the end, but it was the best I had for this test.
I used a z-depth and a motion vector pass for post-motion blur, I tried to add a slight lightwrap, but I’m not 100% satisfied with that yet. And I’m not completely satisfied with the backside of the car. Hence it’s a WIP
Any feedback is appreciated, about lightning and setting up the CG element in Maya, and specially about compositing, since I’m just getting started with compositing. I would like to know whats mostly giving it away that it’s fake, and improve my composite.
:thanks:
