Hey,
This is our first short VFX film at NFTS, UK, made for a Barclays Bank waterslide competition.
The VFX part was pretty straightforward, just greenscreen(we made lots fo mistakes here) plus stills plus shake. Fur the tunnel and the setallite we used maya.
Some more effects were added at After Effects
From beginnig to end it took 2 weeks, with an avarage 1,5 of us worked on it each day.

The 13th LA Shorts Fest 09 is the largest short film festival in the world. We are accredited by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences. In past years, 33 participants have earned Academy Award nominations. The festival annually attracts more than 10,000 moviegoers, filmmakers and entertainment executives looking for the hottest new talent. We have honored some of Hollywoods legends of the past: Charles Chaplin, Harold Lloyd, and Robert Wise; along with actors Martin Landau, James Woods, Gary Oldman and directors Tim Burton, Bryan Singer, Jan de Bont, Paul Haggis and Shane Black.

Hello,
Master’s degree students in AGCOM ( Administration and Management de la Communication) are releasing 6th consecutive year of their Short Film festival called Concoursdecourts in Toulouse/FRANCE.
The director, even if professional or amateur, need to send their works until monday-on 9th march midnight.
The originality of this competition is being derived from its both national- international dimension.
The registration is from now open, everybody can send his/her film of maximum 15′ lenght in order to be evaluated on the occasion of our festival.
This year a jury composed of cinema professionals will be present to select the films and also to give awards to the winning films in the closing night which is going to be in june 2009.
Would you please attach your worksheet with your synopsis and scenario and also shooting script. You’re free in your subject of the film.
You can reach to the registration form and regulations on : www.myspace.com/concoursdecourts.

I just couldn’t find a better place for this post!, I just finished a 3D sci-fi Indie Shortfilm “The Last City on Earth”, it is an independent project not backed by any school or studio made , the story is original but based in the movie “They Live” by John Carpenter and the shortfilm “Cannon Fodder” by Katsuhiro Otomo, I hope you like it.

Short in OSLO

I’m currently in the pre-production process of a dystopian, sci-fi-kinda shortflick in Oslo Norway. With pre-prod I mean the script is drafted, although everything gearwise is fixed.
I’ve managed to borrow everything we’ll need from my workplace in terms of good lighting, crane, dolly and we’ll be shooting on a PMW-EX3 with 35mm adapter.
It’s a no-budget production and anyone, either from the Oslo area or anywhere in the world that has a good enough connection for ul/dl is welcome to contribute! Offcourse if you are from another country we’ll have to do some videoconferencing about the project and I’ll send you a script and you can input with ideas etc. I’m open for any 🙂
The plan is to send it to a couple of festivals after. I haven’t projectmanaged that many vfx-shoots tbh, so if you rather work with greenscreen or just live composition you’ll have to let me know so I can start getting things ready.
If you are interested hook me up with a mail telling me a little about yourself and hopefully linking to some work you’re done.
