Anyone into The Dresden Files?

Hello, VFXers

I am trying like hell to find someone willing to help me with a short film. It’s only about 20 minutes long and it’s based on the short story “Restoration of Faith” by Jim Butcher.

The main character is Harry Dresden, wizard and private investigator. He has found a missing girl and is trying to get her across a bridge, but before he can do that he must defeat the troll that is guarding it. There’s a LOT more to it, you can read the original short story here:

I have written the script to it.

This isn’t going to premier anywhere other than online, but I’m hoping that once the author sees it, he may be intrigued in asking for more. He will soon be attaining the film rights to his series of books again, after the dreadful onslaught of the TV series on SciFi a couple years back.

Erebus – 3D animation short

There used to be a small but beautiful blue rock somewhere within the vast void of the universe. Life appeared on its crust relatively fast and as usual through out the evolution, one of the species dominated the rest, by forming complex societies to overcome its primordial survival needs. The dominant inhabitants progressed technologically, excelled in many different fields within their closed society and managed to build establishments on every corner of the planet’s terrain. But during the process of solving these initial problems and building their dream utopia, more problems would arise faster than before, making their daily lives gradually more and more complicated. The time came when their overcomplicated society demanded so much devotion, that they stopped questioning other, more fundamental issues. It was then, when they even stopped looking up the heavens. The sky that used to inspire and guide them will now bring them disaster and Erebus...

Erebus is a personal project I’ve just finished. It started two years ago, as a desire to work on a short film again, which I hadn’t done since university times with Theros. It began as a short term and mostly visually driven project. Working full time in VFX, it was really hard to find the time and mood to work on it. I took a long break from work, moved back to Athens and finally managed to finish it.
Now that this is over, I am looking for work again as an FX-TD, ideally in Vancouver starting this summer. Any suggestions please drop me a line via my site or pm.

Looking For BFX Help

Hello all, I’m new here (obviously). Anyway, I’m in the pre-production and planning phase for an episode-based series of short films. I am in no way a professional, but I would like to incorporate some visual effects into this project. I am looking for anyone willing to help me with the VFX for my film. I have no experience in this department and would like someone to do very rudimentary explosions and some little, simple stuff (like a gun firing). I have not begun filming the series yet, but am simply shopping my options for visual effects. If anyone is interested in helping me, please post a reply. Thank you in advance.

five directors take on one film in Parallel Lines

Ridley Scott Associates and Philips present “Parallel Lines.” Five directors were each challenged to create short films in different genres using the same dialogue. Pretty interesting stuff. http://iamrogue.com/social/posts/new…parallel-lines

the little girl who used to bite her dolls

Short inspired by a Gudule’s short novel, directed by Jonathan Rio. It was shot in Super8.

Searching for CGI Dinosaur Animators

I have been working on a Jurassic Park fan film for just under 3 years now, and we have finally filmed the last bit of footage we needed. I have had numerous animators over the past year and a number of them have quit on me (mutiple reasons, mainly down to them not having the time). I currently have one animator, Bruno (who created the 6 pack in JP dinosaur clones you can see on TurboSquid). He’s incredible – who’s knows the models better than him, right?

But I feel the workload may be too high for him, and I am in need of another animator to help Bruno along the way. I’ve delayed the film too much – I’ve set a date for next year and I would really like to see the film actually get completed. These 2 and a half years have to mean something.

Bruno’s dinosaurs work in 3DS Max. The animations created would need to be composited into the video I have and tracked if the camera moves. So far what I’ve seen from Bruno is just incredible – I’m sure there are others out there as skilled as him.

Anyway, if there is anybody interested please reply for more information or contact me seperately. The Jurassic Park community are awaiting this fan film.

If you would like to see some footage from the film so far, and a few update videos I have done, check them out on my YouTube page:

Thank you very much for reading and I hope somebody is interested. I didn’t want to discuss payment outloud but this is something that can be discussed separately. 🙂

Lanista / Action-packed sword and sandel western

Hey everyone,

Lanista is a fast-paced mix of a sword and sandel film and a spaghetti western, blended with some vfx. Sounds odd? Look for yourself. Have fun and tell me what you think!
