General Description:

Formed to develop media for one-of-a-kind special venue films and technically complex attractions, Peregrine Pixels is the premiere production management and rendering house for innovative 2D and 3D media experiences worldwide.

Peregrine Pixels is currently expanding its core team to include a Media Producer located in Orlando, Florida. The Media Producer is responsible for the day-to-day management of the production pipeline.

Management responsibilities include forging strong, successful partnerships with internal and external development teams including recruitment of a qualified CG team, if required. The Media Producer will ensure that milestones are delivered on-time, on-budget and that the approved submissions maintain a high standard of brand integrity.

On top of possessing excellent management skills, the Media Producer must be extremely analytical with a strong practical background and intimate knowledge of the technical challenges associated with delivering large format 3D CG media. The Media Producer will support with originating and/or implementing projection logic, rendering optimization and distortion algorithms for profound media content.

Essential Functions:
1.Manages day-to-day technical aspects of media production by providing leadership and guidance to the development team.
2.Oversees and creates a production pipeline for all CGI animated productions.
3.Collaborates with the management and creative teams on the media productions by technically interpreting the creative vision to ensure the project is effectively realized.
4.Responsible for developing, researching and implementing emerging industry production techniques and methodologies.
5.Helps recruit and assumes responsibility for training and mentoring qualified media production staff.
6.Prepares production schedules and budgets.
7.Works closely with management to ensure there are no project trends.
8.Manages the procurement of the appropriate equipment and software necessary to produce high quality media pieces.
9.Forecasts future requirements for critical pipeline resources such as network storage, software and tracking tools.
10.Works with the management to develop a stereoscopic style that supports the storytelling of the produced films.
11.Supervises and/or creates all stereoscopic camera settings and animation for the produced films.
12.Works with management to create additional capabilities in stereoscopic cameras in the system.
13.Exhibits passion about creating great work.
14.Demonstrates attention to detail and consistency.
15.Communicates and plays a role in supporting management and works well in a team environment.
16.Manages efficiently personal and team deadlines.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

1.Must be creative, resourceful, innovative and pro-active.
2.Minimum of 3-5 years as a proven technical leader on CG productions required.
3.Experience in the development of CG production pipelines.
4.Production experience in all of the following areas: layout, animation, modeling, texturing, rigging, effects, lighting, and compositing preferred. Some experience with fur/hair preferred.
5.Knowledgeable in the CGI animation production process, including CGI production and pipeline hardware and software.
6.Proficient knowledge of Maya, Max and other CG software.
7.Must be a highly skilled 3D generalist.
8.Proficient in Excel and Word is required.
9.Knowledge of the Post Production process helpful.
10.Must have the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with a wide variety of personalities, both written and verbal, including clients, directors and artists.
11.Must have the ability to pay close attention to details.
12.Must understand oral and written instructions.

Qualifications:

· Thorough understanding of color theory, film application and stereoscopic theory for live-action features.
· Ability to understand the client approval process.

· Experience with compositing as well as integration of 3D elements into plates.

Title: Creature Development CG Supervisor

Summary:
Under the direction of the Creature Dev VFX Supervisor, the CG Supervisor oversees the creation and implementation of DD’s Creature Dev (CD) pipeline from concept phase through modeling, rigging, texturing, look dev and delivery of the creature assets into shot production. Responsible for the timely throughput of (CD) assets, partnering with the CD Production Manager to ensure delivery of assigned work on schedule and on budget and to the requirements of an individual show’s CG/DFX Supervisors. Responsible for the implementation of an efficient and effective approach to CD and asset builds that allows the CD Department Supervisors and their artists to focus on creating assets that will allow the highest level of animation performance and fidelity, within a show’s budgetary and schedule limitations.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Oversees the creation and implementation of DD’s CD pipeline, partnering with the CD DPM
• Ensuring that the techniques, tools and pipeline being created are modular and portable from show-to-show and that a proper QC process is in place between all CD departments and into the show’s shot production pipeline.
• Manages the DDBA Creature Dev (CD) team across multiple projects, working with CD DPM to create schedules, milestones and approval processes that align with the needs of each particular show.
• Together with the CD DPM, works with individual show CG (or DFX) Supervisors (and their respective Digital Producer) to ensure that the creature assets flow smoothly into the shot production workflow utilized for a specific show, resolving bottlenecks and schedule issues pertaining to creature dev.
• In conjunction with the CD DPM, manages the CD team across tests, pitches and multiple shows, with the shows acting as a ‘client’ to the DDBA team.
• Participates in turnover meetings, asset breakdowns, and re-bidding over the course of the show.
• Participates in the staffing and recruiting process
• Responsible for attending facility technology meetings
• Provides concise direction and feedback to Leads and artists on the floor, focusing effort on the critical parts of the shot
• Delegates to Team Leads and/or artists to ensure focus on technique and methodology
• Anticipates show’s CD challenges and identifies solutions with the DFX Supervisor, maintaining an ongoing focus on optimization and streamlining throughout the life of the show
• Identifies and utilizes tools and techniques which improve productivity and the quality of the work; avoids reinvention of the wheel or duplication of effort both within the show and across the facility
• May participate in the bidding process and strategizes on creative approach for Creature Dev work working with the CD DPM, to accurately estimate work-load and resources in creating production budgets
• Collaborates with other CG Supervisors in the facility and promotes a positive and productive work environment
• Responsible to the VFX Supervisor in realizing his vision
• Responsible for the success/failure of the artist departments on a show
• Mediates discussions within the Leads and Artists, acts as an escalation point for the Leads and resolves conflicts between the Leads as needed
• Ensures effective communication between disciplines within the show and partners with peer group to ensure critical information is shared across shows
• Mentors the Leads and Artists, providing ongoing feedback and participating in mid-show and end of show review process for team

Education, Experience and Skills Required:
• Minimum of 6 years of artist experience across 2 or more disciplines
• Minimum of 3 years of Lead experience in feature film VFX required
• Strong knowledge of the entire post-production process relating to visual effects
• Must have a sense of strong team dynamics and a positive morale generating style
• Must have strong problem solving mentality and/or the ability to accurately place people who can solve a particular problem
