This is a full-time, temporary position and reports to the sequence or compositing supervisor. Position opens July 27 through November 04.

Performs compositing tasks within Nuke and must have experience working in a team-based visual effects pipeline. Combines live action and cg elements into visual effects shots that realize the vision and creative direction of the visual effects supervisor. Ability to work independently on creative look development using compositing tools and develop and provide visually creative solutions. Strong artistic vision, good sense of photographic design and composition required.

You will work closely with the lead match move and roto supervisor and are responsible for the timely completion of assigned tasks at a high quality level. You will work under the compositing supervisor’s lead, but retain the ability chart your own course.

2-3 years of professional experience required. Experience with Maya and VRAY helpful but not required.

We are currently seeking a vfx artist to help compose a few shots on a low budget music video. The shots we are looking for involve our actor looking into a mirror and seeing a distorted disfiguration in his reflection. Sort of like a fun house mirror but worse, almost frightening as the scene symbolizes the realization of this character’s having become a monster, which prompts him to change his ways.

Another shot we are looking for work on is the same character, close up on his eyes with what should look like fire embers and sparks in his pupils.

Finally, on the same close up shot of this character’s eyes, the reflection of an angel in one eye, and a demon in the other. We won’t need any illustration or animation as we’ll shoot these images on set.

Our budget is very meager so we are open to artists of all skill levels but will be operating on a tight deadline, expected delivery will likely be two weeks from the date we submit the files for your work. We will be shooting on RED MX.

We have a budget of three-hundred dollars, please respond if you are able to provide the work within this range. Thank you!

· Photo-real element integration.
· Tracking and rotoscoping duties.
· Provide matte extractions.

Qualifications:
· Post-secondary degree or diploma.
· Roto and painting skills including experience with hand painting and "procedural" painting.
· Excellent Silhouette, Nuke and Mocha skills.
· Experience in production of photo-real visual effects for feature films.
· Must possess excellent communication skills
· Extremely detail oriented.
· Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast paced/deadline driven environment.
· Fluent in English.

Key Purpose of the Job

To lead the creation and maintenance of production systems and tools.

Needs To Do

* Understand the technical needs of the Production, HR and Accounting departments including, but not limited to: reporting; shot/asset tracking; scheduling; bidding; employee databases; and finance systems
* Advise on direction of internal systems and guide developers to meet the needs of the above departments
* Liaise with external providers to ensure smooth integration of new products
* Plan and schedule development appropriately to production needs and overall company direction

Needs To Know

* Extensive understanding of visual effects pipelines
* Basic understanding of coding languages eg. VBA, Filemaker scripts
* Experience with MS Project or a similar package is essential
* Office, particularly Excel
* Experienced in database work, preferably Filemaker and/or Shotgun
* Experience of working as a Producer or Line Producer within a visual effects or related environment

Needs To Be

* Logical and organised in their approach to problem solving
* Confident when communicating with developers
* Proven interest in production systems and particularly databases
* Proven in project management to a high level
* Capable of motivating and leading teams with enthusiasm
