A LA based studio is looking for LA-based compositors with 5+ years of high-quality feature film effects experience.

Reporting to the Lead Compositor, the Compositor is responsible for seamlessly integrating elements from various sources including live-action plates and CG elements into a final photo realistic shot. Compositor –

Summary:

– Highly detail oriented.
– Demonstrated ability working with Shake, Nuke and/or Combustion.
– Strong communication skills, with the ability to take and apply direction.
– Effective individual time management skills with respect to sensitive deadlines.

Desired Skills:

– Mandarin and English speaking definitely and asset, but not required.
– Fine Arts and or photography background a plus.
– Willing to relocate.
– Runs with scissors. (Senior positions require running with Shears!)

CGI Studio Manager

· Hand’s-on animation for individual projects as a generalist

We are now looking for a Pipeline TD to join the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • – To plan, implement and maintain an archive infrastructure for a diverse range of 2D and 3D software, including but not limited to Flame, eQ, Fusion, XSI, Maya, Max, Nuke, Mistika
  • – To plan implement and maintain a multi platform, multi OS, multi software renderfarm of approx 500 cpus
  • – To implement the timely and accurate exchange of data between the various packages mentioned above.
  • – Support and coordinate data management for internal projects; including data camera ingest when required
  • – Undertake any additional scripting and programming required to enable the efficient delivery of vfx across the department
  • – Advise on software and hardware and research new technology when required

You will be used to working with 2D and 3D artists, and will have experience of working in a post production environment.

• Maintaining / Checking backup sets / Storage Pools / User accounts.
• Monitoring render farm and managing it’s load in accordance with delivery schedules.
• Researching new technology & software specific to the visual effects industry.
• A good attitude of whatever it takes to get the job done.

Needs to know

• Administration of Apple Mac systems and servers.
• Understanding of TCP/IP networking topologies plus AFP, NFS, SMB & FTP protocols.
• Fedora/RHEL/Debian linux experience.
• Good working knowledge and interest in computer hardware, networking and operating systems.
• Previous systems administration experience or help desk support.
• Enthusiasm, interest and the ability to learn quickly – thinking on your feet is essential.
