Key Purpose of the Job:

Double Negative is looking to expand its R&D team with a creature programmer.

You will

Develop in-house software for the digital post-production of major feature films.
Work alongside other Programmers.
Interface with teams of designers.
Communicate and work well in a close-knit team environment to create exceptional work.

You will need to have

Extensive knowledge and experience of Maya’s C++ API
Previous exposure to large-scale post-production pipelines.
Experience with creature/ character projects developing tools for animation/rigging/muscle/deformers/jiggle.
An excellent understanding of programming languages/techniques.
A pragmatic approach to solving complex programming/production issues.
Good verbal and written communication skills.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or certificate in classical animation, film, or related field, or equivalent production animation experience,
  • Must be open to direction and able to embrace change while exercising attention to detail in a fast-paced production environment,
  • Expert knowledge of Maya, animation principles, film production and compositional design,
  • 5+ years experience a must.

Job Description: VFX Coordinator

Mr. X is looking for a highly motivated, experienced VFX Coordinator to work on high-end feature film projects. Responsibilities include:

  • Working as part of the film production team to implement practical VFX solutions,
  • Implementing project plans and delivery schedules to ensure deadlines are met,
  • Coordinating animators, compositors and internal production staff to ensure efficient workflow,
  • Serving as liaison between clients and the studio,
  • Working closely with editorial,
  • Managing and logging incoming elements, footage, data, notes, etc.,
  • Overseeing outputs and client deliveries,
  • Maintaining project databases,
  • Helping coordinate on set during visual effects shoots.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience as a visual effects or post production coordinator for Feature Films is required,
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential,
  • Candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys working in a face-paced creative team environment,
