RESPONSIBILITIES:
– polygonal modeling of organic creatures/objects/terrains/ from photo reference
– optimization of UV’s for maximum efficiency
– developing multilayered photo-real textures for use in multipass rendering
QUALIFICATIONS:
– Artist must be well versed with Maya and Z-Brush skills are a plus
– Artist must have an understanding of pipeline based productions and multi-pass rendering methods
– Artist must submit show reel demonstrating their ability to model and texture photo-real creatures, characters or environments
– Artists must be able to take direction and work in a team oriented environment, great communication skills are a must
– Relocation assistance may be available subject to negotiation

Job Title: Rigger

Key Purpose of the Job:
The Rigger is responsible for creating animation rigs for characters, creatures, props and vehicles. The role may require the implementation of proprietary tools to aid in the creation of a rig. The Rigger must collaborate with the CG Lead and the Animation Lead to develop the most suitable rigging solutions.
Needs to Do
Work closely with the CG Lead to ensure that the rig is pipeline friendly for texturing, lighting and rendering.
Work with the Animation Lead/Supervisor to develop an intuitive and responsive rig for each character.
Work with The Rigging Lead to meet project schedules and manage their time to the successful delivery of rigs within those schedules.
Communicate with the Modelling Department to ensure that models are suitable for rigging.
Communicate with the R&D Department where necessary to effectively help develop the tools and technology to aid in delivering high-quality rigs.
Needs to Know
5+ years CG experience, ideally within feature films
Ability to perform visual and analytical problem solving in 3-dimensional space, including the ability to accurately interpret 3D layouts and analyse 3D form.
Ability to problem solve and predict potential problems with assigned tasks.

Full knowledge of Maya and must be comfortable with final gather techniques in Maya using Mental Ray
Ability to create lighting that is accurate to live action plates
Systematically check integrity of renders prior to submission for supervisor review
Able to set up lighting scenes to achieve high-end results while being reasonably efficient on the render farm
A detailed understanding of the visual effects process and pipeline
Artistic and technical ability to meet briefs and deadlines
Ability to work within a strong team environment and take direction from the VFX and CG Supervisors
RIGGERS
Requirements:
Proven experience in Maya in creating animation rigs for human characters, animals, vehicles and props.
Experience rigging cloth, fur and/or hair is a plus
Ability to work closely with the CG supervisor and other team members to ensure the rigging is suitable for animation, texturing, lighting and rendering
Ability to understand the requirements of the rig to ensure the most efficient and flexible solution is employed
A detailed understanding of the visual effects process and pipeline
Artistic and technical ability to meet briefs and deadlines
