Posted in: between, General, live action, photography, short film, tim bollinger, via grafik, wiesbadenHot off the festival circuit, Tim Bollinger of Via Grafik recently shared his latest short “Between” with us. This dark, surreal piece travels through grounds and walls and into moments stuck in time. As Tim puts it, “It’s a journey through worlds of the subconscious, allowing us to catch sinister glimpses of the human psyche’s ambivalence.”
Despite the mix of techniques (stop-motion, still photos animation in 2.5D, 3D elements, etc) the film still possesses a consuming visceral and visual cohesion.

WILD THINGS DOWN UNDER.
Posted in: Ari Marcopoulos, Film, Gallery, photography, Spike Jonze, Where the Wild Things AreIf you haven’t seen Where the Wild Things Are (we haven’t), then pick up the new issue of Interview Magazine to see some super duper sweeeeeeeeeet photos from our neighbor, Ari Marcopoulos. He flew to the land of OZ to shoot some photos of Spike, and some monsters, while on the set of one of the most hyped movies of all time. Not sure if James Gandolfini was hiding in the monster costume or what the deal was but you can check it out HERE.
Onesize: Playground Fest Main Titles

The main title for this year’s Playgrounds Festival, created by Dutch design powerhouse, Onesize, offers us a first-hand look at an action-packed playground battle in super slow motion.
Shot on a Phantom, you ask? Nope. With just a little over 2 weeks from concept to delivery, Onesize had to think outside the 7000 fps box. Enter photographer Jasper Faber and two flashlights.
That’s right, it’s all photography camera mapped in 3D. To deal with the tight turnaround, Onesize brought in production company Revolver, to help produce the shoot, while Onesize stayed focused on the heavy post efforts. The 3D was executed using mainly Cinema 4D and 3D Studio Max.
A TRUE LENSMAN ALWAYS HAS PLATINUM APPLES.
Posted in: Gallery, photography, thetruplaya, Thomas BrownNothing says TRUE PLAYA like having a collection of platinum apples. Truth be told, we have no idea if the bleached metal objects in Thomas Brown’s photographs are made of anything platinum at all, but we’ll be goddamned if we are going to ruin our TRUE PLAYA fantasy just to have a subjective argument about “facts”. Shit’s real. Check out the stylings of a true lensman HERE.
SPENCER TUNICK COMMANDS NAKED CROWD.
Posted in: art, Gallery, Nudity, photography, Spencer TunickSpencer Tunick has seen more nipples in a day than the boom mic guy at Jenna Jameson’s record breaking serial bangathon. His work captures the abstractions of the human form in massive structures to create a new organic view of life and the environment. These installations are voluntary based with his biggest one yet in Mexico city, with about 18,000 naked people free ballin’ it. Make the jump to see more nudies in mass.
PAOLO VENTURA’S WINTER STORIES
Posted in: Circus, Dioramas, Gallery, Paolo Ventura, photographyPaolo Ventura is an internationally acclaimed photographer from Milan with an obsession of the lost art of dioramas. His new book Winter Stories, is a beautifully staged narrative about the life of a circus performer recounting his life before his deathbed. Using miniature figurines ranging from clowns, harlequins and lion tamers he finds from flea markets, he creates a moody piece of a clown’s hidden sorrow. Find Paolo himself at Aperture Gallery for a talk and signing of the new book, on the 13th of this month.
LOGS AND LOCALS IN BARBADOS.

Guess who’s come back with more killer photos from living the million dollar lifestyle? Noah “MDL” Conopask and our good friend Seth “Sean Weasly” Ricart, set off again on a new expedition in search of wahines and cocktails on the island of Barbados. During their down time from too much log riding and sunbathing, these two captured some stunning images of the island and locals. Take in the amazing tropical sights after the jump.
We just came back from the lands of Istanbul, Turkey where we spent a week with the Commodore himself, Noah “Million Dollar Listing” Conopask. He was kind enough to give us some of the beautiful flicks that he took while wrapped in a blue blanket to shield his scantily clad body from mosque goers during Ramadan (we must be the only ones who can endure such a copious amount of man chest). Check for the full survey of the city after the jump.
