Texture-Replacement

I’m currently trying to replace a street surface with a random texture.
But it’s very hard to match the perspective with just the transform node.

Is there a better way to warp the texture to match? What is common?
Just rotate and skew?

Does anybody have a good grasp of Ocula using Nukex and more specifically correlating roto

I’ve been plugging in an O_Solver followed by a O_DispartyGenerator then rendering out the disparity, the left eye, just on its own (not embedded into the plate), then plugging that into a PaintRoto or Roto node, making a roto shape in the left eye, do the roto required either by keyframes and applying trackers or by keyframes alone, then using the correlate to generate the right eye.
When I apply a tracker to a roto shape I usually apply it to a ‘folder’ inside the ‘ root’ folder in the node and then generate the roto shapes inside that tracked folder.

How do I know if I have a good ‘solve’ or ‘ disparity map’ ? How can I make them better? What are the settings to be watching? Are there any good tutorials I can watch/read?

is it common to do these before-after switches as seen in many showreels (like http://vimeo.com/16592561 at sec 19) directly in nuke? Probably in something like final cut, am I right?

If it’s common to do it in nuke: how is it done?

Pressure alter defaults for clone tool

Hi there, I am trying to paint a few frames but the pressure alters are set so that the opacity button is clicked and I cannot unclick it until I paint a stroke–every single stroke. How can I fix these defaults and is there a way to go between them before I actually make my stroke?

Also, has anyone else noticed a strange bug if you put two roto paints one after the other? Just curious. Thx!

I have been having a big problem using the latest version of nuke 6.2.2 *seems like it will crash when I’m either scrubbing on the timeline or zoom in and out on the viewer sometimes when making adjustments to nodes*?
What should i check?

wet street effects

Hi all, I have a scene that was shot on a street at night. The problem is that the street is wet in all the other scene except for this one. So I need to make this one wet.
At the moment, I thought I can get some wet street texture and blend it with the original. I also need to rebuild the reflection obviously. But I am not sure how to achieve that. I was wondering if someone could give me some tips on this. Thanks

Transform node / inverse function

Hallo guys,

trying to improve my skills in nuke, i am just wondering if there is something like inverse function in transform node. (?) I want to do my transformations, make some adjustments or something, and than copy/clone my original transform node to put it all back by the same numbers. Or should i do the math by my self ? Or am i just stupid and can’t see it in manual… :/ I was used to do this kind of stuff in shake, so, sorry for my "bad habits" 😉

pixelate / mosaic-like effect in Nuke

Hey guys,

Trying to emulate a mosaic effect, or a pixelate effect in Nuke, similar to AEs effects. Basically trying to make anti-aliased fonts look aliased.

I’ve tried a convolve, erode, etc, nothing seems to be working quite the same.

Any tips?

disable check box for BackdropNode?

Hi all,

I’m trying to figure out a way of creating a ‘disable’ check box for a BackdropNode that will then disable all the nodes it contains.

I then want to set the disable check box as a user knob for a gizmo.

Anyone know how to do this?
