Knob Callbacks or Functions in Expressions

Hey Gurus,

I’ve got a PythonGeo node with a user knob (int) that the user enters a value into. Then, I want a float knob that evaluates a custom function using the int value. However, I can’t find a way to tell Nuke to run this function as it only seems to accept one-liners. The closest thing is the autoLabel knob since it evaluates automatically and you can pass it a callable function (as string). Is there another knob capable of this?

Keying problem—Bad green screen and Bad lighting

Hi,guys here.An old question comes again:How to get smooth edge lines of matte when do keying work with bad greenscreen shot?(bad green screen and bad lighting….footage :HD 1920 x 1080)

I know one method: colorspace, linear to Ycbcr —–>blur rgb channel( g and b channel ,value 4)—–>colorspace,Ycbcr to linear.
This method may do help in some case, but in my bad greenscreen shot, the reflection of green screen is a trouble, and actors’s clothes are effected. The matte edges of keying result is ugly.

The director may think that compositer can do anytings by roto drawing even wtih bad footage.

May guys catch waht I mean according to the pics.I wanna get smooth matte edge by keying, espically with those bad greenscreen, etc….I am eager to receive advices about keying.

What is a “Python Custom” knob?

I can’t find any mention of it anywhere and I can’t seem to make it execute anything. Anyone have a clue about this?

Set round to pixel as default (RotoPaint Clone), how?

When cloning with RotoPaint you just get a blurry, "round to pixel" removes this softening.

I’ve tried:
1. nuke.knobDefault("RotoPaint.source_translate_round ","True")
2. nuke.knobDefault("RotoPaint.Stroke.source_translat e_round","True")

At first glance when you open the node it seems like that nr 1 is working. "Round to pixel" is checked however it’s grayed out since we haven’t started cloning yet, as soon as you start cloning it goes unchecked.

How can I make "Round to pixel" defualt for every Clone Stroke?

Thanks 🙂

problems on grouping nodes

Hi all!
I’m experiencing troubles with a very simple group creation:

attached file "v001.nk" has an animated change between 2 images (20 frames of horizontal slide using a mask)

If you group the nodes into the backdrop (ctrl+G) and changes the inputs the output does not refresh (file "v002.nk"). If you open the group the inner viewer works well.

Does anybody knows how can I fix this??

Thank you very much!

nuke 3D cam vs Maya 3d cam?

HI ,
I don’t animate nuke’s camera very much so forgive my newbie question;
Can you animate nuke’s camera while viewing it? (perspective view)
In Maya, you can move your camera while in perspective (active camera) view, and set keys.

I have been only able to animate the camera by the x ,y z coordernates or moving it from another camera view.

How to do you set a key while in the active perspective?
Thanks,
Lou

Shakes’s DilateErode equivalent

It seems that Nuke seems to lack the ability to filter the x and y separately in it’s DilateErode nodes (also it’s Blur node).

Shake allowed DilateErode and Blur to have separate values in the x and y – any ideas on how I can replicate that functionality in Shake?

Thanks in advance.

Take a look at this .12 oclock shadow

Hi all,
Before I spend 12 hours trying to figure out if this can be done, I’d thought I would run it by you guys for your opinion.

This Director has now learned NOT to shoot at 12 O clock anymore However, I’m not sure if I should tell him…live with it or " I could fix it" 😀

Is there any way to reduce this shadow around the kid’s neck? (Kid on Right)
This is a 20sec shot and the camera is dollying back as they walk.

Take a look
Thanks,
Lou
