A little digital matte painting…

Just thought I’d post a little project of mine from my visual effects class. I’m back in school transitioning from editing to visual effects.

The 3D elements were done in 3DS Max and touched up in Photoshop. It was composited in Shake (school’s not getting Nuke until the fall). The foreground was partially greenscreened and partially rotoscoped… the portable greenscreen we had wasn’t completely opaque so the backlight bled through the fabric making it difficult to get a decent key.

Blindfold music video

Hey guys,

I’ve been trying to teach myself the fundamentals of film-making and visual effects by doing a couple of free music videos for local bands. This is the second one I’ve shot:

YouTube – ‘Listen’ by Hiding Giants

It was shot in and around London on my XL2, edited in Final Cut, and I did the most of the FX work in Commotion. That’s me driving the car by the way. I’m pretty pleased with how this turned out, There are 27 different FX shots – see if you can spot them all. It’s a lot more ambitious than my first one which had 6. You can see that one here:

YouTube – ‘Your Name Meant Freedom’ by Amour Propre

I’d appreciate any feedback/criticism,

Thanks.

JEREMY GEDDES AMAZING WEIGHTLESS ART.

05a

Jeremy Geddes, the Australian “air-guitar enthusiast“, is also a damn good artist. His hyper-real talent has got us scratching our heads. If you wanna see more gravity defying moments, go to “Read on.”
