The Night Of – Framing a Crime Drama

HBO’s The Night Of provides viewers with a more visual approach to the crime drama by relying on the use of framing throughout. Framing is the presentation of visual elements in an image and serves as a good indicator of where the subject is in relation to the space and other objects. For this video I believed having a rule of thirds grid would make the framing of each image clearer in an attempt to visually understand the different ways an actor is placed before the camera, how it affects their character as well as the overall scene.
