D-Dub software releases controversial adult videogame ‘BoneCraft’ on Steam platform

D-Dub Software is bringing adult gaming to the mainstream with the release of their adult sci-fi/fantasy RPG, BoneCraft, on Valve Corporation’s Steam platform. This opens the debate as to appropriate content in video games.

“Adult games create controversy because people assume video games are for kids. But the average gamer is 34 years old, and only 28 per cent are under 18. The gaming industry grossed over $43 billion last year, and it’s expanding in all directions. It’s only logical that one of those directions is adult,” said D-Dub Software marketing director Sam Stewart.

D-Dub’s two titles, BoneCraft and BoneTown, revolutionized adult gaming by offering full featured video games–including missions, upgradeable weapons, customizable teammates, and other dynamics you would expect from non-adult titles–while integrating sexual gameplay and other mature content. In the past, Steam has prohibited games that include adult content, as do most other platforms. Now, BoneCraft will fill a hole that gamers and fans have been clamoring for.

“So many gamers grew up with Star Wars, Star Trek, Warhammer, and WarCraft, and wondered what it would be like to ‘go all the way’ with the sexiest creatures in the galaxy. Now, in BoneCraft, you can,” says Stewart.

BoneCraft is a hack-and-slash parody RPG game that follows Captain Fort Worth and his crew of Space Wranglers. Captain Fort Worth is voiced by legendary voice actor Neil Kaplan, who has voiced such iconic characters as Tychus from StarCraft II and Optimus Prime in the Transformers series.

BoneCraft is available now on Steam, and will be on sale until 10 June . The game is not rated but is for players 18+.

Muslim League demands ban on PUBG for hurting its religious sentiments

Tamil Nadu Muslim League has filed a complaint against the PUBG game with the Chennai commissioner demanding a ban on the game claiming it is hurting the religious sentiments of the Muslims.

Four months earlier the Surat district administration imposed a ban on the game after reports of an increase in violent behaviour among children and youth addicted to the game emerged.

The regional political party has argued that the new version of the popular mobile game has the model of the Kaaba in it and it is distracting the youngsters and hurting the Muslims sentiments.

The Islamic body compared PUBG to deadly online games like Blue Whale Challenge. Just like the Blue Whale Challenge led to the tragic suicides of young players, the recent update in the PUBG game is causing anger amongst the global Muslim community.

Kaaba is a holy building at the centre of Mecca, the birthplace of Prophet Muḥammad. A video by social media page Kashmir Islamic along with the copy of the complaint was circulated on instant messaging platforms.

The video claimed that the March 29th, 2019 Anniversary Edition of the PUBG video game features an image of the Holy Kaaba, which appears at the player’s foot level and that bullets are fired upon it. It said that the game was disrespecting a holy site where lakhs and crores of people offer prayers.

The video urged devout Muslims to “Boycott PUBG” by deleting the game and reporting it. It also asks to share the video and spread the word about how the game insults Islamic religious sentiments. The video featured captions such as “#BanPUBG”, “True Muslim can’t live without deleting it” and “Stop PUBG”.

Trailer of ‘Super 30’ trends at number one

Recently the trailer of Vikas Bahl’s Super 30 was dropped in which Hrithik Roshan is featured in the biopic genre for the first time. The movie is based on the inspiring and noble story of Patna-based math genius and founder of the Super 30 educational programme, Anand Kumar. Hrithik’s character drops out a well-paying teaching job at a coaching centre to teach privileged children in a bid to end the class disparity.

Hrithik can be seen speaking in a Bihari dialect, donning a professor’s outfit and a tan. The film is based on the life of Anand Kumar, who started Super 30, an educational programme where 30 students from poor backgrounds are chosen and trained to get into the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). The programme is popular for its success rate.

“It is true that the ICC (Internal Complaints Committee) report exonerated Vikas. With ICC clearing Vikas Bahl’s name, we don’t have a choice but to reinstate his credit as Super 30 director,” Reliance Entertainment Group CEO Shibasish Sarkar told IANS in a statement.

The movie is set to have a fair bit of VFX done by Prime Focus. Produced by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, Reliance Entertainment and Phantom Films, Super 30 also stars Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Tripathi in key roles. The film will hit the theatres on 12 July 2019.
