Marvel Studios has announced Vision and Scarlet Witch to be one of the first series that they’ll be making for Disney+, Disney’s streaming service.

The studio has also roped in Jac Schaeffer, one of the scribes behind Captain Marvel to run point on the series that will focus on the two characters who are integral members of the Avengers. She will pen the pilot and executive produce.

Paul Bettany (Vision) and Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch) are expected to reprise their roles like on the big screen. Vision is a synthezoid who was created by Ultron, one of the Avengers’ greatest enemies, and is a being who longs for human understanding. Scarlet Witch, whose alter ego is Wanda Maximoff, has various sorcery abilities.

Vision and Scarlet Witch are Marvel Comics’ one of the most enduring couple, with a tender love story binding the two through many decades. The pair have been featured on several comics mini series with their relationship going through several twisty turns: The two were married and had two kids, which in a later storyline were later revealed to be figments of her imagination.

Marvel is known to be working on several series that will debut on Disney+, including one on Loki played by Tom Hiddleston and a team up of Falcon and Winter Soldier, the heroes played by Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, respectively. Malcolm Spellman of Empire fame has been hired to write the latter project.

For Schaeffer, the deal to pen Vision and Scarlet Witch strengthens her ties with Marvel. In addition to working on Captain Marvel, she also wrote the screenplay for Black Widow centering on Scarlett Johansson, which is due to shoot later this year. She also co-wrote the Disney short Olaf’s Frozen Adventure.

Skydance Media hires Ex-Disney animation chief John Lasseter

Disney’s ex animation chief, John Lasseter, who took Pixar Studio to the next level is set to take charge of Skydance’s animation unit. Skydance Media CEO David Ellison announced that Lasseter has been named the head of Skydance Animation.

Lasseter will be reporting directly to Ellison, and will be based in Los Angeles starting later this month.

Lasseter left Pixar and Disney Animations in November 2017, amid accusations of sexual harassment. According to a statement given to Hollywood Reporter by Ellison, “John is a singular creative and executive talent whose impact on the animation industry cannot be overstated.  He was responsible for leading animation into the digital age, while telling incomparable stories that continue to inspire and entertain audiences around the globe.”

Lasseter has directed Toy Story and Toy Story 2, among other Pixar films, and also executive produced the WDA features. While he won only two Oscars himself (one a specialty Oscar for his work on Toy Story), Pixar gained eight best animated feature wins and WDA scored three wins during his tenure.

The year 2018 swished myriad brushstrokes on the canvas of the Indian Entertainment Industry in the past year. Natural Disaster Scene

 

In an interview with AnimatonXpress, Savanoor said, “No one had done water in India on such a big scale. So this was quite a task. And I would say we did it well. We had the whole team making sure the shots are proper. We had many reference videos of the actual disaster. Last I remember, Water scene was done was in Mohanjodaro but this was cinematic and more real. Shooting more than 100 shots only of water, we had been testing this on many software. We had to use multiple software including Houdini to create just water scenes”
