Before the creation of humanity, the Greek gods won a great battle against a race of giants called the Titans. Most Titans were destroyed or driven to the eternal hell of Tartarus. But the Titan Prometheus, whose name means foresight, persuaded his brother Epimetheus to fight with him on the side of the Gods. Iseult Gillespie shares the myth of Prometheus.

In mythological ancient Greece, Icarus flew above Crete on wings made from wax and feathers, defying the laws of man and nature. To witnesses on the ground, he looked like a god, and he felt like one too. But, in his society, the line that separated god from man was absolute, and the punishment for mortals who attempted to cross it was severe. Amy Adkins explains the myth of Icarus and Daedalus.

José Delgado, implants, and electromagnetic mind control

1985 CNN Special Report on Electromagnetic Mind Control featuring José Delgado and his famous 1965 experiment with an implanted bull.

Military affairs specialist Chuck DeCaro:

Electronic mind-control research is not new. A scientific milestone in this area came in the 1960s when Dr. Jose Delgado demonstrated remote control over a charging bull.

By connecting a radio antenna to electrodes inserted into the bull’s brain, Delgado proved that the animal’s aggressive impulses could be thwarted by electronically manipulating the bull’s muscle reflexes.

Delgado

Do you realize the fantastic possibilities if from the outside we could modify the inside; could we give messages to the inside?

But the beauty is that now we are not using electrodes.

DeCaro

In recent years Delgado has shown that the behavior of monkeys can be altered using low-power pulsing magnetic fields. But in these experiments, there were no antenna implants.

Delgado

Any function in the brain — emotions, intellect, personality — could we perhaps modify by this non-invasive technology.

DeCaro

Delgado’s research has so far been limited to animals.*

But in the Soviet Union a radio frequency, or RF, device has been used for over 30 years to manipulate the moods of mental patients. [ Lida machine ]

* From Delgado’s 1969 book, “Physical Control of the Mind: Toward a Psychocivilized Society”

“For example, in one of our patients, electrical stimulation of the rostral part of the internal capsule produced head turning and slow displacement of the body to either side with a well-oriented and apparently normal sequence, as if the patient were looking for something. This stimulation was repeated six times on two different days with comparable results. The interesting fact was that the patient considered the evoked activity spontaneous and always offered a reasonable explanation for it. When asked “What are you doing?” the answers were, “I am looking for my slippers,” “I heard a noise,” “I am restless,” and “I was looking under the bed.” In this case it was difficult to ascertain whether the stimulation had evoked a movement which the patient tried to justify, or if an hallucination had been elicited which subsequently induced the patient to move and to explore the surroundings.”

Turning Your Back To Leopards & Cheetahs | BIG CATS Show Their Predatory Nature Part 2

I compare ambush styles of leopards versus cheetahs in my second installment of turning my back to big cats. I wanted to show the comparison between leopards and cheetahs this time. There is a big difference and it is due to the nature of these two predators… based on tons of factors where their mindset and bodies were adapted to hunt a certain way to survive. Where they live is just as important due to provided cover or not.

This is a simple test but does show the nature of these different cats when it comes to approach of their prey. Both have the instinct of ambush, but leopards are masters of it while cheetahs depend mostly on their speed. A leopards hunts mostly from forested areas while cheetahs live and hunt in the open plains.

There are so many factors and reasons why. Size, strength, muscle mass, body types, prey, landscapes, mindsets of the two and so much more. A whole thesis could be written and we’re just talking about leopards versus cheetah ambush styles.

The wild cheetahs at Cheetah Experience don’t like anyone and won’t come close to me to test ambushing. But the tamed ones just don’t care about your back because that is not their normal way of predation. They don’t need to ambush their prey because none of their prey can out run a cheetah.

Anyway… enjoy the video but don’t go thinkin you can just walk into any cheetah enclosure and not get jumped on for any reason. I am cautious and have foreknowledge about the nature of these animals and individuals, like I mention in this video. So please don’t.

Thanks for watching!

P.S. Some seem to think I have an uncanny resemblance to Louis C.K. who is an American comedian, writer, actor, and filmmaker. He is known for his use of observational, self-deprecating, dark, and shock humor. Maybe on day I’ll impersonate him and interact with these cheetahs, minus any dark humor of course. Not my style.

The Advantages of Being 'just Good Friends'

We’re used to thinking of the state of friendship as hugely inferior compared with that of being in a relationship. But comparing how most people behave in a couple, compared with how they are in a friendship, should perhaps lead us to reconsider our choices. FURTHER READING

“One of the most subtly hurtful and quietly damning of all remarks, perhaps quietly and sweetly delivered on the doorstep at the end of a long evening, with the taxi still hovering somewhere just out of sight, is the suggestion that we should in the end probably remain ‘just good friends’

We know exactly what to understand by this. The path towards a tender future is being gently but firmly closed off. We are, with a smile, being shunted into the category of the failed, the ignored and the lightly despised. The other must in some way have worked out the despicable truths about us – all the ones that we tried so hard to disguise and even to believe didn’t exist – and has logically decided to take their leave. We return crushed to an apartment which we had left with butterflies and elevated hopes only a few hours before…”

Archie Comics to get a Bollywood touch with Graphic India

Archie Comics in partnership with Graphic India has announced plans to develop a live-action theatrical film based on the iconic Archie Comics characters. The beloved Archie, Betty, Veronica and Jughead will be reimagined with an all-Indian cast.

Archie Comics is the pioneer of some of the most popular characters in entertainment, including Archie, Betty, Veronica and Jughead, while Graphic India is one of India’s leading character entertainment companies.

“We are supremely excited to partner with the great team at Graphic India to bring Archie and his friends to Bollywood,” said Archie Comics CEO Jon Goldwater.

This will be the first international comic to be translated for Indian screens. The producing companies are taking the initial steps to create a modern screenplay to resonate with the Indian Archie fans too. It is in the early stages with an official release date yet to be announced.

Graphic India co-founder and CEO Sharad Devarajan said, “Archie, Betty, Veronica and Jughead have been a source of inspiration for numerous Bollywood films over the years, and now it’s time to take them fully into Bollywood in an exciting new twist of a story that we have planned. These characters have held a special place in the hearts of Indians for decades and we have no doubt that the new Indian cast of Archie and the gang will be an exciting moment for the country.”

Archie Comics have sold over two billion copies worldwide and are published in over 17 languages in over 55 countries. It is garnering success with the hit TV series Riverdale, which launched in 2017. The company also recently announced with Netflix the upcoming untitled Sabrina series.

“Archie’s lasting and growing presence in India made this move the logical next step as our stellar library of characters continues to expand into other media. It’s a major moment for Archie and its fans around the world,” Goldwater quoted.

So which Bollywood actors will play your favourite Archie character? Stay tuned to know!

Valiant comics’ ‘Bloodshot’ to star Vin Diesel in titular role

After over six years since the announcement of a movie, Bloodshot finally has a face as Vin Diesel has been roped in to portray the gun-toting soldier on the big screen.

Based on the popular character from Valiant Entertainment comics, the movie will be directed by Dave Wilson, who was conferred on the project in March last year as the production now sees the light of the day having hit the buffers all this while.

Bloodshot, co-created by Bob Layton, Don Perlin and Kevin VanHook in 1992, is an ex-army man whose memory has been wiped out several times by being subjected to electrochemical device nanomachine, and is out to avenge the perpetrator who did this to him. However, he accidentally ended up gaining superpowers of regeneration and meta-morphing through the experiment, that he later uses to right the wrongs and in bringing the wrongdoers to justice.

His brawny appearance will now be fittingly complemented by the Fast and Furious star, who will be seen donning the role of a superhero for the very first time. Jared Leto was rumoured to be in talks for the role initially, but the speculations have now been put to bed.

Little is known about the script while a release date is not yet confirmed, though further developments are expected in the near future.

The original Bloodshot comics released in 1993 had eight editions, before a reboot series in 2012 that featured six volumes. A new line of Bloodshot comics titled Bloodshot Reborn, was launched three years later.
