2017 Star Wars Christmas Light Show – A Dubstep EDM Cover of Darth Vader’s Imperial March

Matt Johnson’s latest Christmas light show continues the tradition and unique style of fast-paced, high-energy, Dubstep and EDM remixed synchronized light displays that have become Matt’s signature style. Starting with our appearance on ABC’s The Great Christmas Light Fight and our subsequent viral video the “2015 Johnson Family Light Show”, our shows have continued in complexity and popularity world-wide culminating in the creation of Living Light Shows in 2016 offering our products and services to the greater commercial and entertainment market. We have musically synchronized holiday light show displays from Southern California to Orlando, Florida and many places in between. We have also fabricated, consulted, and programmed RGB light systems and elements for other shows across the world from Australia to Abu Dhabi.

This 2017 Star Wars light show is located in downtown San Antonio, Texas at Dignowity Park and runs nightly from 6pm to 10pm until New Years. The show Celebrates the launch of the new movie Star Wars The Last Jedi which will be released December 15th.

New in our show this year:

– Projection Mapping / Video Mapping (Want to see the video we made for the projection screens? Click HERE: https://youtu.be/lfBmk4bedao)

– Circular Matrix Product (Notice the Imperial Logo used on these Matrixes)

– LLS RGB MegaTree Kit (https://youtu.be/B5bJfEVOjHQ)

– Triple Leaping Arch Design (An adaptation of our popular arch base kits here: http://livinglightshows.com/product/leaping-arch-base-kits/)

– Clay Paky Sharpy Moving Head Spot Lights (Don’t accept the cheap Chinese clones, they are not nearly as bright, reliable, or fast!)

– Many new custom designed effects you wont see in any other show!

– Props (e.g., full sized 6-foot 8-inch Darth Vader with custom-made Lightsaber that is amazingly realistic perched on top of our 30-foot RGB MegaTree!)

Soundtrack
We are excited to have partnered with Celldweller for his amazing cover version of the Imperial March, Darth Vader’s theme song, for this years show. You can visit his iTunes store at https://fanlink.to/imperialmarch.

About Gringo:
Mild-mannered pharmaceutical company executive Harold Soyinka (David Oyelowo) takes a business trip from Chicago to Mexico with his cutthroat bosses Richard (Joel Edgerton) and Elaine (Charlize Theron). At the company’s Mexican lab, Richard orders manager Sanchez (Hernán Mendoza) to stop selling the bioengineered marijuana product Cannabax to a brutal, Beatles-loving cartel kingpin known as The Black Panther. Meanwhile, straight-arrow Harold learns he’ll be out of a job as soon as Richard and Elaine sell their newly cleaned-up company to a conglomerate. And when he turns to his wife Bonnie (Thandie Newton) back home for comfort, she confesses via Skype that she’s having an affair.

Targeted by the ruthless Black Panther, who hopes to gain access to the Cannabax formula, Harold disappears before his bosses return to Chicago. A few hours later they receive a call informing them he’s been kidnapped, and his captors are demanding a $5 million ransom. Rather than pay, Richard dispatches his mercenary-turned-humanitarian brother Mitch (Sharlto Copley) to extract Harold. But even with some temporary assistance from warmhearted American tourist Sunny (Amanda Seyfried) and her drug-mule boyfriend Miles (Harry Treadaway), Harold’s prospects for survival grow dimmer by the minute.

Pursued by an army of attackers, Harold crosses the line from mild-mannered citizen to wanted criminal. But is he out of his depth? Or two steps ahead? An action-comedy roller-coaster ride brimming with black humor, white-knuckle car chases and double-dealing, Gringo takes the concept of adventure travel to a whole new level.
Directed by Nash Edgerton, who made his feature-length directorial debut with the acclaimed Australian thriller The Square, Gringo is written by Anthony Tambakis and Matthew Stone and produced by Rebecca Yeldham, Nash Edgerton, Beth Kono, A.J. Dix, Theron and Tambakis.

An innocent girl writes a letter to Satan instead of Santa in animated short ‘Dear Satan’

Christmas is round the corner and festive mood in the air. Where something related to the festival is coming up every moment as usual, something unusual like Dear Satan pops up. Now you’d wonder how Satan is related to Christmas. Look closely, it is just a typo!

An animated short by Anomaly London, Dear Satan tells the story of a little girl who writes a letter to Santa but due to an innocent mistake, addresses it to Satan. The letter reaches Satan in hell and what unfolds afterwards is a sweet and hilarious tale.

Stories generally revolve around the typical festival themes of Santa Claus, Christmas and gifts. Here is an animated short that breaks the stereotypes and portrays the dark themes in quite a lucid manner, making it a fun-watch.

Dear Satan is written by Alex Bingham, Conrad Swanston, Craig Ainsley; narrated by Patrick Stewart and animated by  Ben Pearse, Joao Pereira, Tom Malins. The animation direction is by Ben White with direction by Alex Bingham, Ben White and Conrad Swanston.

Otto Feliz Navidad – Christmas Together

Germany shopping chain OTTO is running “Together It’s Christmas”, an advertising campaign centred on the classic Christmas song “Feliz Navidad”. Set in the middle of the Bolivian mountains, the Together It’s Christmas commercial (Gemeinsam wird’s Weihnachten) shows a bus journey going awry after a landslide. With no help in sight, the passengers come to realise that they will not be celebrating the beginning of their Christmas holidays with their loved ones, but with strangers. Inspired by the young girl who starts singing ‘Feliz Navidad’, a classic Christmas song throughout the Spanish speaking world, the passengers come together to embrace the festive spirit in union. The “Together It’s Christmas” campaign is featured on a microsite: otto.de/gemeinsam

Otto Christmas Feliz Navidad

“With our Christmas campaign, we want to show that the essence of Christmas is coming together, sharing, and caring for one another. We want to remember these values, that are more important than ever today, and get us in the mood for the forthcoming Christmas season”, said Marc Opelt, OTTO-divisional marketing director and online-retail spokesman,

The newly interpreted Christmas song ‘Feliz Navidad’, which has been specially created for the campaign by MOKOH Music, can be downloaded for free otto.de/gemeinsam

Online Response

OTTO’s YouTube video attracted a range of comments, including from people concerned that a German television commercial featured a Hispanic cultural setting and that Christmas meanings and cultural traditions were being downplayed. The one “white” character is portrayed as an insensitive gringo. OTTO responded with the following note on their YouTube page:

“Our Christmas film tells a story about unity and the thought of coming together. The underlying values behind it should not be ruined by people who clearly have contradictory intentions and have no interest in living a harmonious life together with everyone. With great disappointment we read the kind of comments that were posted by a number of users. The film deliberately depicts a story about Christmas from different kinds of perspectives. For example from the point of view of a child, who won’t make it home on time for Christmas Eve. Or from the point of view of a bus driver, who would have rather taken the day off. Or of a tourist, who does not have the necessary language skills to communicate with the locals. Eventually, all these different individuals manage to make the most of each other and the situation, whilst being stuck in the Bolivian hills and together they celebrate Christmas. Beyond disagreements, beyond cultural differences, political dispute and religious orientation. A beautiful thought – especially in times like these – as we love diversity and cherish every human being. And this is the kind of appreciation we wish to anticipate here in the discussions on YouTube.”
