I felt it was the perfect place for Léo Walk and his choreographic imagination to perform, surrounded by the ruins, the surreal light of the costa verde and the intense voice of Mercedes Sosa. It creates this subtle feeling between vitality and melancholy that I wanted to express in this film. Transported back in time to the Italian countryside of yesteryear, Yves Geleyn takes us on the simple journey of a man and his machine. Meet Mr Cabrioni, his trusty bird and the machine he brings back to life. This simple film symbolizes Cabrioni’s love of good ingredients and traditional recipes combined with modern tools. As this film centered on the relationship between these characters, Geleyn enlisted Peter de Sève (known for his emotive feature film work and New Yorker contributions) to design the inquisitive stars of the film. Yves Geleyn uses multiple technique and masterful storytelling to weave a film that brings the craft of Cabrioni into today.
