I recommend the audiobook “The Hero with a Thousand Faces” by Joseph Campbell as its the book that inspired George Lucas when he was writing the original Star Wars.
In this video I examine some of the flaws and imperfections in Rogue One and The Force Awakens to extract the lessons we can learn about showing vs. telling, active protagonists, and meaningful consequences.

I just got to watch ABC’s new family comedy #Speechless! Here are my thoughts on the show, on how TV portrays disability and some examples from my childhood of how I’m a terrible person. You can see the series premiere before it airs on TV by watching it on the ABC App or click here to watch it online: http://bit.ly/SpeechlessZA
ABC sponsored this video and asked me to share my own genuine and honest thoughts and opinions about their new family comedy Speechless.
We asked our buddy Zach Anner to tell us the top 10 things he wishes people knew about cerebral palsy. Comment and tell us about some things you wish people knew about CP!

In my inaugural video essay, I discuss the 1998 classic movie “Pleasantville” focusing on the excellent cinematography, the awesome themes, and the great acting techniques. Overall, a great movie by Ron Howard. October 27th marks the 21st anniversary of the release of the classic film “Powder” directed by Tim Burton. I thought I’d take a look back and remember some of the cool stuff they put in the movie. It’s important because it’s filled with character dialogue, a great message, hope for humanity, and more. I hope you enjoy my take on it. If you’re not familiar with the video essay format, don’t worry, you’ll catch on quick, it’s just me talking over awesome footage from the movie. Maybe you’ll even be inspired to make your own video essay — it’s important that we have millions of video essays or film culture is in deep shit. For every movie or movie topic, there should be at least 5 video essays. Thanks!
