How much do you know about fencing? For most people, it’s not much – a few seconds of quick moves, and a winner declared on the scoreboard. The speed of attacks and hits is so fast – it’s quite hard to follow with an untutored eye.

Ukrainian fencer Olga Kharlan not only understands what’s happening in those seconds, but also excels at scoring winning hits. Fencing isn’t about force. Rather, the ability to choose the right position and distance is the key. The faster fencer will ‘step-lunge’, which offers more chances to land a hit first. The speed of this move made by professional athletes can be compared to the acceleration of a race car.

What if we put Kharlan next to Alexander Grinchuk’s 600hp #RedBull350z, which accelerates up to 100km in four seconds, on the starting line? You’d be surprised to see who’s faster.

Réalisé le 25/01/2012 dans le cadre d’un examen d’Opérateur de Prises de Vues Vidéo”Gros plan” est une émission créée par Hubert Samain et Antonio Rossé qui souhaite faire découvrir l’univers de différentes personnes. Aujourd’hui le magazine s’intéresse au doublage et plus précisément sur la carrière de Céline Monsarrat, doubleuse de Julia Roberts depuis Pretty Woman en 1990.
Réalisé dans le cadre d’un examen d’Opérateur de Prises de Vues Vidéo.
En aucun cas il n’a été réalisé à but lucratif. Les extraits de films sont sous la propriété des maisons de production et les films sont disponibles à la vente.

Microsoft Edge Experiment: Battery Life

What happens when three identical devices run on different browsers? The Microsoft Edge team wanted to find out. This experiment showed that battery life on a PC running Microsoft Edge lasts 70% longer than Chrome, 43% longer than Firefox Firefox, and 17% longer than Opera (with Battery Saver enabled).
