Breaking News: Indiegogo has taken down the campaign without warning! And said they are refunding all donors. No worries. Their loss.
This is a bump in the road as support and enthusiasm for this project are skyrocketing. We will have another donor solution available soon.
Do not use Indiegogo. They were very aware of our campaign. They read our story. They approved it. It trended top of international news for days. Then, without warning, they unilaterally decided to end the campaign after we had hundreds of live backlinks from many top news sources to our donate page. Very underhanded and detrimental to any entrepreneur wanting to crowdfund.
The good news: all this happened just as I received interest from several large donors wanting to cover a significant percentage of our total goal. They are also very passionate and wanting this to succeed.

We need a 747 with a working blackbox, a tall building as close to the WTC as we can get, many GoPro’s to record the event inside the building and inside the plane. Facebook ne manque jamais une occasion d’améliorer la collecte des informations qui nous concernent et il nous l’a encore prouvé en février dernier. Cette nouveauté a suscité pas mal de questions s’il faut en croire vos mails. Le bouton « j’aime » – pouce levé, vous connaissez. Mais de nombreux utilisateurs se plaignaient de ne pouvoir exprimer leur désappointement ou encore de ne pas pouvoir dire qu’ils n’aimaient pas un contenu.
Facebook a donc décidé de rencontrer leur demande. Après une enquête suivie d’une phase de test menée en Irlande et en Espagne, vous avez vu apparaître, fin février dernier, six nouvelles petites icônes. Si nous devions les décrire, nous pourrions dire que nous avons désormais un symbole pour dire ” j’adore “, un autre pour exprimer sa joie, un troisième pour dire sa surprise, et d’autres pour faire part de son amusement, de sa tristesse ou encore de sa colère.
La question que certains d’entre vous m’ont posée était de savoir pourquoi Facebook les a limités à six.
En fait, comme vous le savez, pour Facebook, nous sommes aussi un produit. Les réactions que nous exprimons, permettent de mieux nous connaître et ainsi, comme le précise le réseau social, de nous proposer la meilleure expérience possible en fonction de notre profil qui se fait de plus en plus précis.
Mais Facebook est aussi un champion du marketing. Il dispose désormais d’un moyen qui lui permet de mesurer nos réactions face aux publications de nos amis ou des pages que nous suivons. Et désormais, en plus de vous permettre d’exprimer vos sentiments, ces petites icônes vont aussi l’aider à vérifier l’efficacité des publicités qui sont présentes sur votre profil.
En limitant leur nombre à six, Facebook compte sur le fait que vous exprimerez plus facilement votre pensée ce qui permettra aux algorithmes tournant en arrière-plan de mieux vous cibler. Grâce à vos clics, il sera possible de déterminer ceux des contenus qui vous mettent de bonne humeur. Cela va donc aider Facebook à trouver l’emplacement idéal, sur votre profil, lui permettant d’afficher un contenu qui pourra éveiller votre curiosité mais également de choisir le moment pour vous le présenter. S’il apparaît que vous êtes dans une phase de bonne humeur, il pourra donc en déduire que vous êtes plus réceptif et pourra vendre des espaces en expliquant aux annonceurs qu’ils auront ainsi plus de chance de vous voir réagir.
En conclusion, ce sera une raison de plus de ne pas cliquer trop vite si vous voulez préserver votre vie privée.
