Rekorderlig’s Silver Skaters advertising campaign has won a Yellow Pencil at the D&AD Awards for Film Advertising Crafts / Use of Music for Film Advertising. Set on the frozen Torneträsk, a lake in Lapland, Sweden, the Rekorderlig Silver Skaters commercials centre on two skating brothers Henrik and Anders (named after Rekorderlig founders Anders Nanne and Henrik Dung), and their coach/singer Jarmo. The films depict a very pure moment in time, based in an unspoilt world which is stripped of technology with not a high rise office block in sight. The routine is complex, yet effortless, with all three men working together in synch to create a sequence which in its heart is intended to be quirky, yet Beautifully Swedish just like Rekorderlig. First launched in July 2015, the campaign was continued in 2016 with a shorter version, this time including a crowd of cider-drinking spectators.
The Rekorderlig Silver Skaters campaign was developed at Saatchi & Saatchi X London by executive creative directors Andy Jex and Rob Potts, art director/copywriter Adam Chiappe, digital creative director Dan Rutherford, digital directors Ant Cauchi and Lloyd Salmons, agency producer Josh Sanders, head of broadcast Zoe Bell, planner Ronnie Crosbie, business director Claudia Mazur, account team Ryan Lacey and James Donovan.
Filming was shot by director Andreas Nilsson via Biscuit Filmworks, London, with director of photography Stephen Keith-Roach, producer Charlotte Woodhead, head of production Kate Taylor, art director Andrew Kelly, wardrobe artist Mr Gammon, choreographer Sebastien Stella (from Blades of Glory) and wig stylist Sarah Weatherburn (Harry Potter). Casting was by Sports Promotions.
Editor was Ben Campbell at Cut + Run London. Post production was done at Electric Theatre Collective by Flame artist Giles Cheetham and colourist Aubrey Woodiwiss.
Sound was designed by Munzie Thind at Grand Central. Music “The Reindeer Herder’s Joik”, is by Jon Henrik Fjällgren, courtesy of Sony Music, supervised by Tessa Harris at Major Tom.
Media was managed by AMS.

“The Earth does not belong to man; Man belongs to the Earth. This we know. All things are connected like the blood which unites one family. Whatever befalls the Earth befalls the sons of the Earth. Man did not weave the web of life, he is merely a strand in it. Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself.” — Chief Seattle Direction & Design by: Alan Geoy Music: Ascension by Ross Bugden

More than a decade ago, Casey Anderson rescued a grizzly bear named Brutus and founded the Montana Grizzly Encounter in order to provide a natural home for other rescued grizzlies. On this Endangered Species Day, their unlikely friendship teaches us the importance of conservation and respect.
