Soar // The Quadriplegic who reached for the sky.

During my trip to Melbourne, with the help of Maribeth, we found the story of Dave Jacka, one of the most inspiring people I’ve ever met. He could teach us all something about the power of the mind and in setting goals. And, oh ya, he’s quadriplegic with only about 6% of his body function. Dave’s full story as well as an exploration of goal-setting are all explored on the blog. Want to know how the NBA all-time leader in free throw percentage achieved a remarkable 90.4% success rate? Or how the seemingly impossible 4 minute mile took hundreds of years to surpass, yet the moment it was broken, 37 people broke it in the following year. http://stillmotionblog.com/powerofthemind/ ‎ This piece was shot on the Red Epic with a 24-105, 24-70, a 24mm Cinema prime, and a 35mm f1.4. Shot during a during a day in Melbourne. Special thanks Maribeth Romoslo, one of our associate producers, who actually found this story and made contact with Dave. http://hellosunshinefilms.com Chantelle Baxter of One Girl http://www.onegirl.org.au who helped develop the story and took over interviewing so I could shoot. Li and Jack of Lensure Cinema and Photo www.lensure.com.au for volunteering to help us out on the shoot. This story is definitely much stronger because of their time. Corinne Maunder of Fire Films – http://www.firefilms.com.au/ for lending us her lights on such short notice.

As he go deeper, he slowly understands what kind of place it is. The world seems beautiful, but it lacks what the real life has. He has to make a choice to stay or not.

Exiled from the tropical paradise where they evolved, a tiny population of remarkable stick insects dodged extinction by hiding under a single windswept bush on the world’s tallest sea stack for 80 years. Thanks to a dedicated team of scientists they’re now living safely in captivity, but when can they go home? Keep in touch with us over at https://www.facebook.com/StickyShortFilm . Man Seeking Woman Main Titles by Digital Kitchen

www.dkstudios.com DK teamed up with FXX to create the main title sequence for the network’s new original comedy “Man Seeking Woman,” starring Jay Baruchel and created by former “SNL” writer Simon Rich. Based on Rich’s book of short stories, “The Last Girlfriend on Earth,” the series is a sweet and absurdist look at the surreal life-and-death stakes of dating and the quest for love —centered on Josh Greenberg (Baruchel). DK crafted an iconic graphic approach for the titles, meant to contrast with the show’s live action. In the sequence, symbols of ordinary dating life mix with over-the-top, genre-spanning imagery, reflecting the unique narrative device used in the series. Packed into 30 seconds, the titles are filled with action and fun moments to keep each viewing fresh and engaging. Viewers are sure to catch new details each time they watch. Who are shaped like a box, descend from Europe, have Golden Arches sticking out of their heads, have enormous grins, are constantly giggling and are filled with hamburgers and fruit? For the past year we have had the pleasure of goofing off with these little red dudes with our friends at Leo Burnett. Music by: Chromeo

A NEW BREED: Get Miles Away – Part 1/5

When unpredictable weather conditions boast a 50/50 success rate, the odds are in your favour – at least, as far as BC-based surf filmmaker Ben Gulliver and surf photographer Jeremy Koreski are concerned. ABOUT A NEW BREED Times are changing, and a new breed of artists are closing the gap on their ambitions; relieved of obstacles that were hindering a decade ago. When a musician’s Soundcloud uploads turn into a world tour, and a photographer’s steady Instagram following evolves into an international campaign, it’s clear to see that more than ever, being a creator is synonymous with being self-made.
