EDGARD

Court-métrage d’animation de fin d’études (promotion 2014).

Réalisateurs : Eve CECCARELLI, Maud GIRARD, Mathieu GOURIOU, Léo SCHWEITZER, Raphaëlle STOLZ

Synopsis :

Through the relationships he has with people, Edgar sees them the way they really are. Although he can cope with this peculiar gift, it is not that simple for other members of his family.
The arrival of his cousin, a convertible, vermouth, and the loss of a moustache are going to rock the fragile family boat. Indeed, between relatives inter-personal relationships can often get complicated, especially when a blurry father refuses to water down his wine.

O2 Possessed House with Smart Tech

O2, the British telco, launched “Possessed” this week in the lead up to Halloween. Samsung devices and apps were used alongside Philips lighting to create a haunted house week in Princelet Street, Shoreditch. Celebrities Lucy Watson, Rylan Clark and Helen Flanagan were invited to take a brave step inside the house to witness the suspense and sudden spooks. Over 50,000 O2 customers registered for free tickets through the O2 Priority app in only one weekend. Upon arrival visitors were led through five ‘haunted’ rooms, each powered by a range of connected technology. All smart tech was controlled by O2 Gurus phones and tablets to create a fun, frightening and unforgettable experience.

O2 Possessed

Philips Hue bulbs were connected to a central hub linked to a wifi network, allowing O2 technologists to use a Samsung Galaxy Alpha smartphone to control each bulb individually or in groups.

A Samsung Galaxy Tab S and Samsung Link were used to hijack a Samsung TV to create the Poltergeis-TV effect.

A Samsung Galaxy Alpha was used to control Samsung Bluetooth speakers.

Technicians kept tabs on the victims by strapping a Samsung Gear S watch on to each of them, with data including heart rates before and after the experience.

“We love helping our customers get the most out of their technology and O2 POSSESSED helped to bring smart tech to life in a really fun way,” said Kristian Lorenzon, Head of Social Media for O2. “The days and nights of fright were powered by technology you can buy in O2 stores and that our very own Gurus can help set up, hence why we wanted to make the haunted house both inspiring and terrifying.”

The O2 Possessed campaign was developed in consultation with VCCP Kin, London.

Ebola Hazmat Suit More Than a Costume

Doctors of the World has launched “More Than a Costume”, a response to this year’s Halloween trend of dressing up in Ebola Hazmat suits. A popular disguise-of-choice for many and a horrifying example of bad taste to others, the Ebola Hazmat suit is both a scary reality and much needed necessity for the thousands of health workers in West Africa risking their own lives to save others. Doctors of the World USA wants to shift the focus off the costume controversy and on to the real need which is to raise funds for health workers and this essential protective gear. If you know someone, see someone or are someone wearing a fake Ebola costume this Halloween, help fund a real one to save lives. The campaign is centered on a microsite MoreThanACostume.com where users can fund anything from a glove, to a whole suit and even a doctor.

More Than A Costume - Ebola Hazmat Suit

“Health workers need new protective gear for each of their rotations. The World Bank estimates that we need 5,000 more health workers to control the outbreak. That could mean over one million suits will be needed in the next six weeks alone. This protective gear can literally mean the difference between life or death for many of these heroes,” said Miranda Sissons, Executive Director of Doctors of the World USA.

The campaign also includes social media outreach with the hashtag #morethanacostume and full- page ads with the headline, “Here it’s a costume. There it saves lives,” to drive people to the site. Ten dollar donations can be made by texting EBOLA to 501501.

Levitating pumpkins! Halloween science

“And the cursed pumpkin rose up from the earth, carried to the sky by the spirits of All Hallows’ Eve.” Or in other words, Andy put a superconductor in a pumpkin and levitated it on a magnetic track.

Happy Halloween! To celebrate this year we thought we’d have some fun with a pumpkin and superconductor. Inspired by this previous video (http://youtu.be/zPqEEZa2Gis), Andy took to the prep room to imbue a cheerful pumpkin with the eerie powers of superconductor levitation.
