Craig Gillespie’s Fright Night pits high school kid Charley Brewster (Anton Yelchin) against vampire-next-door, Jerry (Colin Farrell). Visual effects supervisor Joe Bauer takes fxguide through the gory details on this DreamWorks stereoscopic feature, from the opening shot through to the dramatic vampire transformations. Warning: contains spoilers.

Nerdo: IdN opening title

NERDO is a Turin, Italy based studio, established in 2009 by Alessandro Durando and Lorenzo Levrero, recently producing this dvd opening title for IdN’s new issue “IdN Video v18n4″.

A few months ago Nerdo was contacted by IdN World to publish this projection mapping project for SEAT Portugal.

Cake: New reel + A Box for Rob

Check out a selection of Cake’s best pastry and sweets for 2011. Cake is a creative animation, design and live-action studio founded by David Pocull and Thiago Maia. Although based in London they collaborate with designers and animators from around the world to bring a wealth of experience to each brief.

Cake also recently completed these open and end titles for the A Box for Rob film.

Scott Benson: Rendezvous’ “The Murf”


Scott Benson can’t seem to stop putting out creative work, whether it’s light-hearted (Opposites, Future Trends in Motion Graphics) or helping himself and others ponder more serious themes (Rebranding, On the Subject of Depression). His music video for Rendezvous’ “The Murf” pairs a cosmic story with beautiful, stylized design that will both make you make you smile and wonder about the future.

Michael Langan: Heliotropes


Michael Langan’s new short film Heliotropes is fresh off the film fest circuit. Heliotropes documents the parallel goals of man and nature, through the most primitive and sophisticated means, to simply stay in the light. Based on the poem by Brian Christian.

You might remember Langan’s previous film Doxology, which mixed stop-motion and live-action to create an experimental comedy about tennis balls, dancing cars and God.
