I don’t normally delve into the world of networks but in the place I am at I’ve been asked to set nuke up so that you could say open a script on the PC and on the Mac and both files would point to the same directory and show up in the nuke script without having to relink any nodes.
….ok so I’ve come halfway, I can open scripts I’ve saved on the mac onto the PC and they link up fine… on the other hand when I open up a nuke script on the mac it can’t find PC link and I have to end up relinking all the files. I’ve followed the nuke documents closely so I am wondering if there could be something missing *scratches head*…
This is what I have in my init.py:
import platform
def filenameFix(filename):
if platform.system() in ("Windows", "Microsoft"):
return filename.replace( "/Volumes/Aurora20TB/Projects/", "z:/" )
else:
return filename.replace( "z:/", "/Volumes/Aurora20TB/Projects/" )
return filename
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!

anyone know how to get the particles to travel (or be attracted to) geometry’s surface, vertex or points, rather than use the geometry as an emitter?
any help would be grand,
thanks.
So here we go, first, here is an example of a bad 3d track with shakiness and all that jazz
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tR2MBY_YkiE&feature
(Yost is my last name by the way)
Now the text is very shaky, and moves with the camera, there are two common causes for this problem.
Cause 1: The frame rate is not correctly set.
Cause 2: The start index is off ( Starts at frame one rather than zero or vice-versa)
Here is how to fix Cause 1
Go into boujou and change the frame rate to match your footage, then reexport.(If you are importing into 3ds max then make sure that the framerate is a whole number, max does not accept frame rates such as 29.97, change that to 30)
How to fix Cause 2
When you export camera solve to boujou, untick the box that says "Use format defualt for start index and null size. Then, in the start index box, change the number to zero if it says one, and one if it says zero.
One of these solutions will fix the out of sync problem in your 3d program, so you get a much better result like this one

The text is now well in place
Hope this helped!!!
Movie Poster Artist
Posted in: The Job LotI am in immediate search of a movie poster artist, who can create a compelling and attractive looking poster for a feature film. There is a pay of US$ 150 for the work. Previous experience creating Hollywood poster is highly desirable (but not essential). IMDb film credit is up for grabs!
Anyone interested, kindly please e-mail me at : kaustavsinha10@gmail.com

I already have an LWS which consists of the 3D modeled restaurant. Can someone PLEASE give me a step by step as to how these two items work together? I literally do not know how to import the PFtrack LWS (if that’s even the format I should export as) into my already existing LWS file which consists of my 3D modeled restaurant.
I would have thought there was an "import camera" function to Layout, or something similar. All the tutorials I’ve read, as well as all of the forum posts already assume you know how to get the tracked camera into lightwave.
So please, can someone let me know the step by step details as to how, after you camera solve in PFtrack, you get that into lightwave with an already existing LWS file.
