Toxik / composite users
Posted in: Autodesk CombustionIf you use Toxik/Composite, I would be willing you to join aera toxik community. It is very active, with some high end user and some autodesk guys allways open to answer any question about the user of this software. The more people here, the better for every users :
http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autod…nd-combustion/
We use Toxik 2012 (hotfix is here on maya and max support pages) for a year now and I didn’t find active Toxik forums apart on aera. VFXtalk have no one at all, fxguide have a forum but not really active.
Also, a nice and active blog you have to know : EnigmaFX
Cheers,
PS : I’m not from and have nothing to do with Autodesk. I just think an active community about a software we use for production is allways a plus !
I’m planning to doing an escape studios vfx intensive course but I’m not sure which one would be better, the vfx professional or vfx production? Are there any people who have done either courses? I would love to hear what your experiences where and what you did after you finished your course? And the big question, whether or not you think it’s was worth all that money?

basic question
Posted in: NUKE from The Foundryi have a basic question
i want to view 2 clips that i imported when one clips ends the second one starts in the same timeline.
Thanks
I am new to MEL and was wondering if there is some command in MEL which allows one to have a look at the modification date and time of a file.
I checked in the documentation and found some commands like system, getfilelist which are quite helpful but very less information is there.
Thanks,
SHashi
robotRead=nuke.Read("file {/Users/inhousecc/Documents/robot_multipass.0001.exr}")
The above code worked for my before in 6.2 now it’s not working in 6.3. I’m wondering how do I script in a read node and it’s file path now?
Thanks
back ground rendering
Posted in: NUKE from The FoundryFirst it asks for how many threads I want to use.
I have a mac pro 2010 8 core so how many threads do I have total?
How many should I use not use you think?
Second can I close my script down that has the write node in it thats rendering in the bg?
Third is there any good plugins that has a batch render option?
Thanks
